We had an issue pop up on our van while going through Port Angeles. We were aware of Petersen's Automotive but had not used them since we do not live nearby. When we called, Mike said he could look at the problem right away and for us to come over. He assessed the issue and arranged for the required parts to be there the next day. We did other local activities while the van was repaired - and it was back on the road that evening. Awesome! Thank you Mike and Crew!

Rolled into town at night with our check engine light freshly on. Catching noon ferry to Victoria where we were to meet old friends and BE the transportation for our week hinged on finding a skilled and preferably honest mechanic. Yelped it and found it. John diagnosed complicated (to me) problem with alacrity and honestly assessed other issues as (1 or 2's on a scale with 4 most serious) items that could wait till we get home. Local owner serving at front counter who's personable. Made the noon ferry to Victoria! Highly recommend.

Could not ask for a better mechanic! This team is honestly the best crew I've ever seen. We had some pretty serious van issues and the people of Petersons took us in like family and helped us out. Our van needed some significant work so they lent us a car and offered their garage for us to stay the night in our camper while we waited for the parts to come in/work to be done. Super friendly staff, really upfront and honest and took pride in their work. I would happily come back and wish we had this kind of service over in Australia!!! Our Van is running super rad now! YEW

Had my car towed to Petersen's Automotive due to a breakdown last Friday evening. Lucky for me, I was able to meet the owner, Michael who was at the shop after hours getting a vehicle ready for another customer.

Michael was very kind and helpful. He has a very honest demeanor and kept his word of troubleshooting and fixing my car as quick as possible. I was travelling from Canada when I broke down and could have easily been taken advantage of but I got a good vibe from Michael and trusted him with my car in his care. Michael was even nice enough to offer me a loaner while my car was being fixed.

I was very pleased with the service and reasonable cost of the repair which was a fuel pump that gave up. My car has been running great since. I would definitely use Petersen's Automotive for all my car service needs if I lived in Port Angeles or surrounding area. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for an honest and reliable shop to service their vehicle.

Thanks to Mike Petersen and his team, we now have a perfectly running Vanagon "Campmobile"! This is something we've been looking to buy for many years. Even though Mike thought the engine was perfect (because it ran great on the flat), when we tried to drive it home and ran into trouble, he and his team never gave up until they found the problem and fixed it. (Turned out to be two problems, which is always a tough thing to figure out.) Yes, they are always busy. Yes, waiting for a good mechanic takes some patience, but we love, love, love the attention to detail, the kind and friendly customer service we received. Our van is a happy van now! When my 2000 Xterra broke down while passing though Port Angeles, Mike and crew repaired it. We live near Olympia and took it back to them for some clutch work--it's running great for a SUV with over 200K miles on it. We also bought a VW Vanagon from him and took it back to get some extra stuff installed. No complaints. Friendly and quality service always.

I had suspension work, etc. done to my Jaguar xj8 VDP. Not only was it quality work but also quickly accomplished. They communicated about everything they were doing as often as posisble. They cared for my vehicle properly until I was able to pick it up. Not many people understand foreign cars in this area, but Petersens Automotive are professionals on the subject. 5 stars. Great work, great parts used, and good pricing.

I brought in my car to them last week Monday and they still have not even started working on my car. We'll see what happens next.
What should have been a nine hour job turned into almost one month. I was quoted fifteen hundred for the job and when I went to pick up my car he wanted twenty four hundred. I informed him I was quoted fifteen. He crunched the numbers and said he can lower it to twenty one. I reiterated that I was quoted fifteen. He finally took fifteen.
Against my better judgment I brought my car back to them for an oil change because it was so inexpensive then. They do a number of checks up on the car free of charge including brakes. A week later I noticed a bolt on my wheel was stripped and broke off when I tried to remove the lug nut. They never mentioned it being stripped or stripping it.
