The people are friendly and the service was good. However the food was not prepared well, at all! My linguini was supposed to be mixed with bolognese meat sauce, but instead it was drowning in water. They rushed the preparation and didn’t drain the noodles, and I literally had to pour the water out of bowl into the bread plate to avoid eating ‘soup’. When the server made it back to our table, she took the plate of water away and said she’d let the cook know. My husband was dealing with his own issue of having a bowl of noodles with barely enough sauce to cover a small portion. Needless to say he ended up eating a bowl of plain noodles. We expressed our disappointment to our server. Instead of a manager coming over to apologize for our experience and thank us for our business, we were delivered a free chocolate mousse with our $140 check. We will never go back.

Upscale bar and restaurant in the theater district. Ambience is accentuated with all black and white decor. Laid back atmosphere which is conducive for talking. Prices are upscale for food and drink. Service is average even while sitting at the bar.

When my dad and I went in we were greeted with the hostess ordering takeout and making us wait until she was finished to seat us. The waitress was very nice. The shrimp bisque was way to salty for consumption and my dads food was bland and a runny sauce my dish the pasta alfredo was just average and the best part of the meal was the bread

Good food. A little pricey. Gets very crowded before a show so leave plenty of time.

My sister had her 50th birthday party here and the staff and owner were all amazing. They let us bring the cake I made in and we're so accommodating and genuinely kind and helpful. They all went above and beyond to make the party amazing and thereally were 46 people in attendance! The food was amazing and they all lived the cake as well and I was thrilled to get to share with them and have real professional chefs opinions on my baking when they have amazing desserts as well as food. Can't beat this place for food and service!

We have not been there before tonight The food and service were very good. The food is classic Italian, but not heavy.
I ate all those ravioli and bread and was able to walk away from the table with out feeling like I was in a coma. The serving size was more than I expected.
    I will go back.
Note: I did reservations on their website and never heard from them to confirm. When I called to confirm, they were all booked. Then he called me at 4:15 to say that they had a cancellation and to see if I still needed dinner reservations. I appreciated the their effort.

The food wasn't as good as it used to be. My family and I felt rushed and then later that night I felt like I had food poisoning and threw up. It wasn't a very good experience at all.

This is one of the best experiences I have had in Pittsburgh. You just got a regular! I work downtown so I go everywhere & this is the best service I have experienced. Plus the food was absolutely amazing. Thank you!!! My new favorite restaurant downtown!

If I could give it 3.5 stars, I would. Here's why:

9 times out of 10, the service is good to excellentt & the food is amazing every time. The food never disappoints me.

HOWEVER.. there's always that one or two times that throws this place off. And it is always under the "Service and Treatment of Others" category.

I was scoffed at for bringing my rolling walker with me one time. Which shows, never judge a book by its cover, because I was traveling, and when I travel I splurge on tips for service. I purposely didn't dress up to see how they would treat an everyday person. Which, sad to say, wasn't the best.

    NO HANDICAP ACCESSIBILITY!
You can NOT maneuver a walker or wheelchair through the inside of this place! Which peeves me off in this day and age. Especially in Pittsburgh where you know that even us disabled people have to have some money to live here.

I have been more pleased than disappointed with the waitstaff and hosts. HOWEVER, there are times, where if I was the boss, I would have fired these people for their judgment, nepotism, and lack of manners.
