This is a 3.5 star review, but I'm rounding to a 4. We've lived in Bothell for over three years and have eaten here (equally to-go as dining in) at least a dozen times. The food has always been at least "good" if not "amazing". No complaints, there. Service, on the other hand, is substandard. We seem to frequently get attitude that says "I don't like working here, I'm just here for the tips, but I don't want to even give average service to earn it". My wife and I tip well (to very well), in general, but with our more recent visits to Pen Thai, we've been making "a statement" by tipping in direct correlation to the warmth and friendliness we've received. This goes for pick-up/to-go, and dining in. If the waitresses want to have a cavalier attitude toward our presence and barely do their job (sans smile) we'll return the lack of warmth with an appropriate tip. When we get great service, we'll thank them both verbally and with an appropriate tip. Heads up, management, your servers aren't happy, and it's not because customer's aren't walking through the door

Stopped by for a take out as Pen Thai is on the way home. Food is delicious but not sure if I will stop by again for the lack of common courtesy. No Hi or Thank You. I don’t expect much but just common courtesy and manners. Food may be good but lack of hospitality makes me not want to come back. Note: I came by at 4:30 PM and the restaurant was dead.

One of the better Thai restaurants in the Bothell area. Not fantastic like where we came from in CA, but very good for WA.

I love their panang curry and they have quick and polite service. It's a great little Thai place in Bothell. But is somewhat pricey compared to other options in the area.

It must be the sweetest phad thai dish I have ever tastes. I asked the dish to be non spicy because of my 6 yrs old daughter but somehow it came out with 1 favorite - SWEET. We cant even finish it at the end. I had tasted better phad thai at a food court at work. No wonder their sister branch closed down.

This place is something else. Best Thai food in Seattle hands down. Great swimming rama, fried rice, and if you're a simple man, phad thai. Ingredients always taste fresh, plus the staff is super friendly. Great neighborhood local spot!

The food was pretty good. The server looked like he was forced to wait tables by his parents as a punishment and all his friends were at the best party ever. Forks on tables, not a chopstick in sight.

Delicious food that's not just the standard Thai options. I've been going to Pen Thai for many years. Everything I've tried has been great. I think it's a bit pricier than most Thai restaurants, but the quality and unusual specials are worth it.

Had a wonderfully relaxing, peaceful timewith great food and excellent service. My wife and I took her mother there. We all liked the quiet, respectful atmosphere for easy conversation. Super friendly staff.

Great menu it had all the classic Thai dishes and several of their personal spins. I live their fried spring rolls which are tiny but very tasty. I had the sizzling chicken for the first time and will definitely order it again. Give the pen noodles a try rather then the classic pad Thai, you will not be sorry. Their service is quiet but efficient.
