This library is a great companion to it's larger branch off of 11th. If you need access to computers, Wi-Fi, and books look no further. The only reason to go to the larger branch, or one of the other branches, is if you want a book and you need it now. Otherwise you can just have a book delivered here and wait a few days or (I think) a week tops. The latter process you are able to do online also if you have your library card and pin.
Do not be ignorant of the libraries many other resources. There are DVDs, audiobooks, inter-library loans, and the Overdrive app just to name a few I use.
Overdrive & Inter-library Loans:
Overdrive is an electronic subscription service that is provided to all library members (card holders) gratis. In it you have access to a number of downloadable titles in e-book and audiobook format. Nearly anything you can read/listen to at the library can be found on this app. That does not mean everything at the library is on it. Some things are available at both and others at one of the two (much less on the app).
Inter-library loans are loans of books from other libraries. This is a very useful tool. Can't find a book you want to read in our local system!? Find it at another library from some far off land. Perhaps a place with winged horse or Plato's eight appendaged two face humans more whole and cartwheeling faster than you or I ever will.
P.S. Don't listen to the negative reviews, especially Dave's review. The library is a wonderful place! Dave just probably hasn't read enough books and is prejudiced against homeless people which you will come across at nearly any library. Dave should probably read some books on psychology, some biographies, evolutionary theory, and maybe a few philsophical discourses on free will. Either that, or move to some haven for bigoted people. Perhaps of a vanilla complection.
Oh, sweet irony.
The libraries are perfectly clean and sanitary and they do not allow food or drinks (trust me as someone who brings their canteen in on the regular). Also, they are generally fairly quite. You will always have a few rule breakers or people communicating with other human beings (imagine that!).response / report this review -

Noisy echo-chamber of a library. They spent so much to rebuild and then very little thought on the actual building. People are always talking on their phones inside the library There is no real division between the kids section. Patrons should not need headphones or earplugs to sit quietly and read in a library. Yet, it is necessary in this one.
