This was a very short stay for me, therefore I don't have a whole lot to contribute about this place. However, I have stayed at quite a few Motel 6's and I can attest to this being your standard run of the mill / cookie cutter Motel 6. If you were blindfolded and could not see outside, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference if you were in Downtown Ventura or Downtown Los Angeles. The location of this place is convenient to the average tourist (just a short walk away from the 'old town' Main Street). The rooms were veryp clean & neat (as are all other Motel 6's, I've come across). And although the need for service did not really arise on this trip, the front desk was prompt the few times that I went up there.
Thank you for a great night's stay. Jay was great. He greeted me and my husband upon entering the lobby. He explained everything throughout the check-in process. I also requested a late check-out since we were participating in a Half Marathon. He was able to accommodate us so we can shower before hitting the road back home. I appreciate his mannerism (was very polite; even asked about the race), professionalism, and his hospitality.
Hospitality is 5 stars. Should be 3 1/2. Room is clean and parts newly renovated. The rating is based on other factors. The highway is near the hotel so the noise is constant. The door isn't fully sealed small gap at bottom. Bathroom needs more updating other than the shower which is great. Light fixture is loud and door hard to slide shut. These may be little things to some and large to others.
Room was clean and comfortable. Had small refrigerator and microwave. I requested a first floor room and got one. Requested room near handicapped parking and I got a parking space right in front of my room. I would stay at that location again because it is so convenient to old downtown, which I love to visit.
My husband and I had a great time staying here during our trip to the coast. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, the room was comfortable and clean and best of all the hotel was downtown adjacent while still being very affordable. We'll definitely be staying here again next time we come to Ventura.
Loved the location. We left our car in the motel parking lot and were able to walk everywhere (beach, downtown). The room was simple and clean. Sleeping was very difficult as the mattress was way too firm. Honestly, I felt like I was camping on the floor (maybe homeless guests would be happy as it was a bit softer than pavement?). On a softness scale of 1-10, it was literally like a 2. If they want to improve their comfort for average guests, they need to shoot more for 4-6.
It's cheap and clean and it could be cheaper that would make me give it 5 stars but in reality we know that it can't go any cheaper. The reason I only gave it 4 stars was due to the fact that I couldn't have visitors after like midnight or something like that. I think that's ridiculous because if you're paying 2 rent the room 2 spend the night then u should b able to have guests over at whatever time u deem appropriate.
It's being re done but it's a great little place. Free WiFi and parking. Nice and quiet.
Good location. Older but maintained. Coffee in room!
Fullfills your basic lodging needs. Although it is located only a few feet from main road I did not hear traffic once door was closed. We did experience some minor vandalism, a case of water that was in the bed of our pickup was opened and several bottles were emptied onto pavement.
Room was a bit on the small side, but clean and worked fine for a one night stay. Within easy walking distance of beach and downtown shopping and food.
