I was very happy with my experience at Orchid Island Bikes and Kayak's. The staff is friendly, knowledgable and it was a pleasure purchasing my bike there. They made sure it fit me and took a lot of time teaching me about the bike and getting it fit to my needs. They follow up on what they say. I had called awhile back and they promised to call when they got what I was looking for in stock and they did. Store was clean and they had lots of choices as well as accessories. The people who work there make it a GREAT place.

I arrived with two bikes which were shipped to me from Indiana (disassembled) in the mist of a pandemic with lots of back work in the repair shop.

NO PROBLEM

In just a few days, both we’re reassembled perfectly. Many thanks for helping us out. Next year, instead of mailing bikes down, I’ll just buy a new one from you guys.

I was very pleased with the attention and service that I received at Orchid Island Bikes and Kayaks in Vero Beach. I purchased a new recumbent trike after much research and looking at various sources and I found that my local shop was my best choice offering excellent service and quite a number of choices. I would recommend Orchid Island Bikes and Kayaks to family and friends if they are considering a purchase of a bicycle, kayak or accessories for these items.

Leaving for camping/trail riding trip Christmas afternoon. Came in 3 days before Christmas needing service on my 10+ yr old mountain bike that was not shifting properly. Place was packed with customers. I hear, “can I help you” from a counter full of people. I explain my situation. A guy comes out to my Jeep, takes my bike inside, motions to a tech and they throw bike up on stand. In 5 minutes it was diagnosed, including chain, cassette and cables. He took all info and said they’ll try to have it by Christmas eave. The next day by 4:00pm I received a text that bike was ready. Out of there including service, new parts, labor, everything for less than a hundred bucks. In this day and age of bike shops that snub you if your not riding/racing one of their 5-10K plus bikes, it was refreshing to walk in, get waited on immediately, talk to a knowledgeable tech, get the job done quickly and out the door at a reasonable price. All of your staff I encountered were friendly, professional, and just plain on it! Thank you. You have just earned a new customer.

My husband had placed a deposit at another local bike shop the second week of November for our child bike for Christmas. My husband was told the bike would come in Dec 3rd. My husband called to follow up and they told him the bike would not come in until Feb 2021 ! With Christmas right sound the corner we were worried that we would have no bike. My husband called Orchid Island Bikes after 5 pm when he got off work the store was closed but God is good and Malcolm the owner happened to pick up ! Malcolm checked and verified they had the bike in stock !!! I called the next business day and placed a deposit for the bike and spoke to Malcolm who was fantastic !!! He had our bike built and ready in 1 day for pick up ! Thank you Malcolm and all your staff !!! Everyone was courteous !!! Thank you to the young man who placed our bike in my trunk ! Malcolm is fantastic and his store is wonderful !!! If I could give them 10 stars I would !!! Honest and reliable !!!

Brought in a bike that was in bad shape, I wasn't sure if it was actually worth fixing but it is only ridden around my development. Got a call saying that it was bad and the lower bracket gears were shot and they could not find new parts. Spoke to Red ( mechanic ) he said that he had a good used gear set and that for around thirty dollars it would be fixed. I was thrilled and have been riding the bike for several weeks now and no problems. I would have to say that Red went just a little further to make it right, not that common these days, price was right on and the bike was done in a day. I would recommend this shop.

I ran down to rent two kayaks to surprise our interns with a fun day and was pleasantly surprised! I was greeted by a man that didn't know exactly what he was talking about and the owner was on top of it. He quickly came over and talked to me and answered my questions. He was wonderful and our experience was awesome! I highly recommend this business!! Our interns had an amazing weekend with the kayaks!!

1st: Have a Trek 1500 with 50K miles on it. Needed medium level repairs, tune up, new shifter hoods. The other bike shop in Vero had it a week, did nothing. And, the arrogant guy there was gonna charge ~$150 to replace Shimano 105 shifters, claiming hoods were unavailable. So got my bike back from that shop, immediately drove to Orchid by 11am. It was fixed by 3pm. And, Red found a broken front derailleur spring the other smart ass missed. Bike is like new, ready for 50K more. 2nd: Red fixed my wife's touring Fuji with Tiagra in 1h45m. We went to beach, came back, picked it up. These guys are friendly. The price is worth this efficienct service. Thanks, Red.

I just wanted to say how friendly and helpful everyone was at Orchid Island Bikes. I am just a visitor to the area for a week, but had trouble with a tire on my doggy stroller. I brought it into them and the quickly and efficiently got it fixed. They didn't even charge me for it. Thanks so much!

Had my bike in 5/23/17. Rear tire, tube, and chain were replaced. Now my rear brakes do not work. They were not put back together correctly. How does that happen at a bike shop? $ 74.00 for that?

Owner is super friendly and knowledgeable. Let us test multiple bikes out to find the right one. It's worth the extra expense to go to a quality and locally owned shop. Also, a Trek dealer. Will return for future purchases and service.

In town visiting family and broke a spoke on my Trek ProCaliber. Stopped in the shop a hour before closing and Red was there to help. Had the repair made and called me by 10:00am the next day just like he said he would. Quick, fast repair at a reasonable price that got me back on the trails without missing a day. Malcolm and Jason are true professionals and dealing with them is a real pleasure. I know I'm going to get the right answers and guidance with regard to my bikes purchases and general cycling needs.

I have nothing but praise for the prompt service they provide as well. My tune-ups and repairs have been handled quickly - charges are very reasonable IMO. Give these good folks a go.

Malcolm and the team are great to deal with. Went to one of their paddle board demo days and were still undecided about which boards to get for a my wife and I so he setup a private demo for us and our friends.
The service was great and everyone we spoke to knew their product inside and out. Going through all the different models of boards and paddles. We ended up getting the right boards for the right price for all four of us.
