Quality is similar to the frozen Schwan's truck peddling frozen tv dinner in the ghetto. This used to be a decent company but the steaks are 2nd rate and the sides are no better than frozen food from the grocery store. Plenty of other place to buy meat locally.

Their steaks were poorly cut. They looked fresh on the top then brown on the bottom when you pull them out. It was actually quite disgusting.

I'm guessing any bad reviews just don't know how to cook a steak. I first tried Omaha Steaks after getting a coupon in one of those packs in the mail. I was extremely pleased with everything in the package. I made the filet mignon for my boyfriend, and all he could say was "wow" after his first bite. The burgers are wonderful, a little fattier than I'd personally like, but flavorful. The site items are pretty typical, but easy to make and go great with the steaks.

Never had Omaha steaks before so I was excited to try them when my husband got a $50. gift certificate for his birthday. I ordered extra items so our total was over $80, We tried the fillets and sirloins today. First, the pics on the web site are NOT at all what you get. The fillets are 1/2" thick at best and are kind of square shaped. They had strings of grizzle throughout and were difficult to cut and worse to eat. I cut most of it up and mixed it in my dog's food. He loved it and ate every bite. My husband said the sirloins were slightly better but he, too gave his fillet to the dogs. I have not tried the side items yet, but the steaks should have been the best items in the package. I had considered giving these gift packages before for gifts, but now know that I will NOT do that. Glad for the chance to try them, but not happy with the meat poor quality.
