A neat little restaurant and bar. The menu is fairly simple, with standard American fare, and does not change very often, if at all. Prices are competitive.

Good food, friendly smiling staff, love the outside seating. Lots of history included in this place, was once an historic jail. Casual dining, general menu fare and prices are reasonable.

Great food if you can get over the terrible service. We had to call in while standing at the hostess station to ask them to have someone seat us after standing there for 10 mins without anyone coming over and both wait staff seeing us standing there. When we were finally seated by a very unprofessional hostess, we had to wait another 15 minutes to place our order. When the food finally got there, it was amazing. Best steak I've had in a while and the Prime Rib was phenomenal. So if you can handle waiting for eons, you'll have a good meal. However, for three people on a $100 tab, we were expecting $100 service. We got more attention from the McDonald's down the road

Took my son for his birthday, seated at 7:30. Orders taken at 8:00, food did not arrive until 8:45. Only revived food after wife spoke to the person who claimed to be the owner. The food was average at best. The service was the worst I have ever had. All the food orders were wrong the server forgot the fries on all the meals. The appetizer arrived after the food had been served. The person who claimed to be the owner was no help with the issue we had . I give the restaurant a star because I have to. I will never spend a penny in this place again.

We had loaded potato for appetizer. I had prime rib. It was cooked to perfection. I like that the au jus and horseradish sauce are included. Baked Potato was good too. My husband got full rack of ribs. He enjoyed his meal as well. We topped it off with deserts. I had the tuxedo. He had the brownie a la mode. Both could have fed 2 people. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. Bathroom had a funny smell.

Food was really good and they have great choices on the menu. Also the beer selection was great. However, the service was a little slow and it took forever for the food to come out. Great patio space!

Ever spent time in the clink? This fine dining experience will allow you to enjoy an excellent meal in a prison cell that could well have housed O. Henry; however, the rustic charm of this converted 19th century prison does not leave guests feeling anything other than delight at the unique decor. This dining experience is a must for any Wooster visitors. An important note: there is a difference between the Olde Jaol Tavern (the converted police station), and the Olde Jaol Steakhouse (the converted jail cells). If you're interested in watching the game with good food, go to the tavern. If you're interested in impressing a date, go to the steakhouse.

This is the second time I've eaten here in a week. First time, Hostess made us wait until she finished a conversation before she seated us. Second time, we were seated right away. But waitress was not told that we were here. It was 14 minutes before she came and we had tell the hostess that we were not waited on yet.

Definitely a lovely setting. Probably one of the most intimate dinner dates. And the service was hands down amazing.

Food was good, service was good, my steak was good, my wife chicken was good also. Atmosphere was really nice. Price was a little higher than what we normally spend, but we new that going there.
