Quiet. Small. We're self-contained in our RV so I can't say about the bathrooms. However, the owners were very nice (new owners) and seem to care about their guests. The location is perfect if tourists want to visit Okefenokee Wildlife Refuge. The main entrance is across the street from Okefenokee Pastimes.
Beautiful serene location directly across from Okefenokee National Wild life Refuge. Treed area, lots of grass, and full hookup. Check-in was great with Natalie and even received cookies as a welcome treat. Fortunately, Natalie drove us to our site, as the pathway is not well marked. It’s a smaller campground so would be hard to get lost.
The check-in store has some RV essentials, dry goods, and ice cream. Very tidy, and well selected.
The main building also has the bath/showers, and activity room. The women’s bath/showers are very clean, well-kept and more modern. We have not gone in the activity room as of this writing, but hopefully will before leaving.
Each campsite has a nice large fire ring and fire wood can be bought at the camp store for a very reasonable price. Picnic tables at each site. Our site is level and large enough. None of the sites are paved or have gravel. Nor are the roads paved or have gravel except the entrance area. It might be a bit muddy during the rainy season, but land is mostly sand underneath so water will quickly sink.
We have Passport America and stayed one night.
Definitely will stay again when in this area.
Stayed in the campground a couple of nights. Was peaceful and quiet. Easy in and out. Right across the road from the main entrance to the Okefenokee swamp.
Great staff, would Higley recommend the campsites we stayed at. Very clean and friendly. The staff even left their own movies stash available for viewing on their TV along with some fun games too.
Best Experience Ever! Its not only the place when you travel its the people. Michelle and her husband (the owners) were more than accommodating to our needs. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. Its not always you find a business that really cares as they do. I cannot say enough about the owners and their personable approach. I highly recommend Okefenokee Cabins!!!
My family (ages 11 and up) had a wonderful weekend in a cabin at Pastimes. The facilities and campground were very clean. The new owners are working hard to give it a camp community feel. Cabin C is the best/most privately located in the park. Cabin B, where we stayed, has a pair of pretty, red skinks living in the treewe named them Eduardo and Freida! I can't imagine a better location to stay if you want to visit the Okefenokee swamp, Pastimes is literally right across the street from the main entrance. We'd stay again without hesitation!
My only complaint is that they're was a group of loudly barking dogs on nearby property that stayed up later than we did.
Clean bathrooms and camp sites. Barking dogs and next to highway
Nice, clean cabins, and kind, helpful staff. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Located literally across the street from the entrance to the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge, it was a perfect place for us to stay for a weekend vacation. I highly recommend this place, and plan to return.
The new owner is awesome they really want this to be a great camping experience. They have cleaned everything up the staff is friendly and very helpful. It's a great location if you want to visit the okeefenokee swamp. Everything is very clean. We will definitely be back.
Very close to Okeefenokee park. Hosts very helpful. No 50 amp. Muddy in the morning dew. New owners who want to make improvements. Okeefenokee Park well worth the visit.
