Important news - the Shanty deck remodel is underway. Due to a few delays today, the front entrance to The Shanty is not accessible right now. They are working hard on it and maybe they can get a temporary walkway set up before they leave for the day. Otherwise, to get to the Shanty tonight, you'll need to walk around the general store and take the path by the driving range to the back entrance. It is just a short little walk.
Be sure to come by tonight to hear John Friday and tomorrow night for Dark Horse. Ask the Shanty girls about the Pickle Back shot!

The new Shanty deck construction has started earlier than planned. It’s demo day! Pardon the mess and noise. Please give the construction crew space. They are committed to keeping the job moving and having access to the Shanty during construction.

I LOVE the Okeechobee KOA!!! They are so friendly and the place is just so awesome! I had a vacation weekend five minutes from my house ��� My baby fished off of our back porch! We went to the pool, and cruised around on our cart! We rented him an awesome bike, took him for an ice cream and I got a Bloody Mary � There is just so much to do! LOVE LOVE LOVE my Okeechobee KOA!

We come here quite frequently. Rented KK1 cabin along with friends who rented others. It was such a great weekend all being together. We cant wait for the Shanty to be back up and running, its always one of a favs! Kids love just being able to ride their bikes all around and its one place i feel totally safe letting them do it by the cabins. We fished, we swam, we laughed, we made great memories! Thank you and as always we will be back

We are seasonal campers and we winter here at the Okeechobee KOA a minimum of three months every year. In our group we have a proximately 14 couples , seven campsites and growing every year. The KOA here has lots of nice amenities, two swimming pools, a hot tub, a bar, golf course and lots of other nice amenities. most of the staff are really great and the park is generally very well-kept. I am not a golfer but I am told that the golf course is nice however it is not taken care of whatever that means. The park could also use updating to handle the larger campers and rigs in today’s world that need 50 amp service. If you share power with another site there is only a 50 amp and a 30 amp available meaning only one of the sites will get 50 amp.
Also like all parks there are rules one is quiet time at 11 PM. Not sure what that means as our group has had some afternoon and early evening parties and were told to turn off or turn down our music. When asked why because it was not yet 11 PM we were told other campers are entitled to their peace and quiet. If you are a party group thinking about coming to the KOA in Okeechobee for a weekend event and have plans to have music I would DEFINATELY ask the question if it’s OK to have loud music prior to planning an event here. FYI it only takes one unhappy camper to shut down your party.

We have been there like 4 different times now it is very nice the staff is friendly they have some activities I would like to activities for both kids and adults maybe like bingo movie night campfire with some-mores and songs just step it up a little on activities

I love everyone’s personality at the Okeechobee KOA! Always so welcoming it’s awesome to be there. Loved how they have events for the little kids and the big kids too! I have to give a special shout out to Ms.Lisa I hope you read this! Our little one keeps talking about the rock painting and the fact that you brought her snow cone while she was napping. You’re a true asset to the KOA! Thank you all for a great stay!

We loved Okeechobee Resort and were sad to leave it! We could only get two nights but we did happen to pass a few spots that were empty the entire time. The Shanty is so much fun with live music and dancing on the weekends. Poolside food (and drinks) at the adult pool plus super fun family pool if you have a float you want to lounge in. Great stay. Our dog Meatball didn’t want to leave, we had a hard time getting him back in the RV. Plus some of the friendliest people we’ve met on the road yet. We’ll be back for sure.

We have a place on the North side where we spend winter months for the past four years. Our roof was ripped off by Hurricane Irma. Luckily, our neighbors notified us because we didn't hear a word from management!! We drove down from Tennessee to assess damages and was fortunate to find someone to help us cover roof temporarily until we can get roof replaced. While we were there working Wendy, the manager of park, drove past us, never inquired about our damage, expressed any concerns and as a matter of fact, never even said hello. Two of management staff, Lisa and Denise did come by and checked on us. A simple email from Wendy to inform us and all the other residents that had damage would have been the responsible thing you would expect from a place, but didn't happen. There was no security checking on properties and the gates were wide open for any one to drive through. We have so many wonderful friends and neighbors there that I would hate to leave, but management is all about the money, not about the residents.

We had a fun and relaxing time at the KOA, They had events for the campers and the residents. Such a nice clean place to just sit back and enjoy. We were at the golf course and the bottle brush tree provide much needed shade from the sun. They really keep up the park, flowers blooming, wild life running around the trees and birds the sound was so nice. They pick up the trash everyday sometimes two times a day. Family pool, and one for the grown ups. They had music playing, bands and a bar if you want to par take. Cookout at the pool and an ice cream shop. Tennis courts horse shoe and many other things to do. Looking forward to our return. Thank You KOA for a pleasant week

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. Wonderful to spend our retirement with things to do every day and night. I can't imagine living in a regular neighborhood in town any more. I wouldn't trade this life for anything. Wonderful people live here and a wonderful staff. We've owned a home on the north side now for 18 years and camped on the south side for 4 years before buying a house. Never bored. These homes are much smaller than we were ever used to but we've never looked back. Don't miss the big house in Illinois for one minute. So much more time to play rather than clean and work.

But if there are renovations being done they should let people know before they get here. Like the Shanty. Alot of upset people. Why do they choose Memorial Day weekend to do renovations. A couple of years ago it was the pool. Why not wait till after the holiday and do it in June.

This place is great, the people are friendly. The place is clean. They have an adult pool and a family pool which is really nice. The shanty is great too. Would recommend this place to everyone!

I have being camping at koa in Lake Okeechobee like 4 or 5 times the staff and people there are super friendly they make u feel like home each time I go I like it even more I wish I could always stay there if you want to stay at a campground that’s friendly stay at koa in Lake Okeechobee

Great RESORT. We rented a Cabin for 2 Nights,
Those log cabins are very cute. Customer service was great. The only minus is the golf cart we rented TO GO AROUND, it was ugly, old and dirty but we were told that it was the only one available �. Then, there was no gas on the bbq grill, we had to call the front desk to have the tank filled up. Otherwise, it was a great vacation. The area is beautiful, the Okeechobee Pier is 4 minutes away. There are plenty of bike trails. The pool is heated, so bring your swimsuit any season.response / report this review -

The only thing i did not like is the flooding. I couldn't get to the bathhouse without wading through ankle deep water. Need better drainage. Everything else was great. Staff was excellent and helpful.

We came to Okeechobee KOA from the KOA in Sugarloaf Key for safety due to Hurricane Irma. I can't thank the staff enough for all their kindness they have shown us. They opened their park & welcomed us with open arms. Thank you so much.

Our first time there and first RV trip !!!! I'm so impressed about infrastructure, organization, clean and logistic for Rv's spaces !!!! Everything perfect !!! I strongly recommend for my friends and my family !!! We had nice and funny moments together. all guests we met, was so friendly!!! My only request is about golf Rental car next time we'll rental before our trip .after that you came at Camping, you cannot rental because rental out . See you on Oktoberfest 🙏🏻🙋🏼🙏🏻
