Loved this place! Shot a 987! Good times.
Non member only allowed at clubhouse to make purchase. Staff was friendly. I expected a bigger pro shop. It was nice and lots of items. Was able to see the start of the course, beautiful of course.
I worked there part time. Had a blast. Walked the links during U.S. Open
An old, private, restricted membership golf club. Home of several US Opens. Our other division did a publication for the US Open in 2016, and we interacted with the country club. But not being members, we were not able to evaluate more than just the grounds and entry way. If you got the money, the connections, and the inclination, this is supposed to be one of the great courses, and they pulled out thousands of trees to make it more "true to it's origins" before the last US Open. So apparently wind plays a big part in the golf play now. Wont be another open there until 2025, but that will extend their record number of US Opens to 10.
One of the world's greatest golf courses. Excellent dining experience.
Great staff. We've done a lot of upkeep to the country club. They are always improving the club for the members benefit.
Gotta be good they had the USOpen there
The Thanksgiving buffet here is a sight to behold. It's is a real event. The only thing about the place is the price. A golf membership for two is in the tens of thousands per year. Get a perspective you dumb climbers.
Playing at this course is a once-in-a-lifetime treat. Immaculately maintained, incredibly challenging, and yet it never a feels unfair. The clubhouse is a veritable golf museum -- photos, signed memorabilia, framed letters from many of golf's greats and without a doubt, the locker room showers have the best water pressure (and volume) I've ever experienced. Notwithstanding all this tradition, Oakmont manages to feel unpretentious and understated. The pro shop staff knows every guest is giddy to "load up" on goodies, and they are charming and helpful. This is a model for every private club.
