Wonderful walking trails that can lead to a bit of exertion for a healthy hike. A great place for families and dogs on a leash. Cool geological features can be seen in the rock and Lookout rock is a special place for picnic lunch, with views into Boston. Tophet Chasm is so named from when the early God fearing Puritans who believed the Native Indians were practicing "devil worship", especially when the methane gas was released from the bog on a warm summers night would effloresce, looking like spirits being released from the underworld. The orange Trail will lead you right down into the bottom of the chasm which supposedly is a 25-foot thick bog.
The Loop Trail is 3.3 miles long. The trail markers are some what confusing.
Great hiking
Great views. Plenty of hills to keep you in shape.
Great views from lookout rock! Lots of colorful mushrooms now in July due to rains. Make sure to bring mosquito repellant. Worth a hike!
Such a beautiful place to explore, there is a ~1 mile direct, and 3-5 mile loops.
Easy walks for kids with surprisingly rewarding views.
