Came here for my birthday dinner and absolutely loved it. It is an experience. The New York strip steak with and old fashioned is a must try.

Number 5 has a great reputation and a great atmosphere. You'll never find me saying they don't have quality food. However, there are so many newer places in the downtown area that are just as good with MUCH better prices. If you want fancy/rich dining experience, go to Number 5. If you want a good meal, but won't drain your wallet, there are so many better options.

Went for birthday lunch todaygoogled menu for lunch from home as I am vegetarianthe menu on the phone was not the same menu we were given when we got there. The only choice vegetarian on the menu today was vegetable egg rolls or salad. Had to ask for the baked potato with asparagus and Holland sauce without the crabmeatthe menu from home at least had a blackbean burger on itneed to sync your menus.

Always a choice during restaurant week. Sadly my husband and I felt onion soup was lacking it's usually pizzazz. Three people enjoyed their sirloin, tenderloin, and salmon and I, unfortunately, ordered the chicken while asking myself why was I ordering chicken?! When I sawed into it I realized it was a little overdone and the risotto was just warm.
Service was great as always and coffee was perfect.
Other appetizers were wonderful.

Excellent service! So many options on the menu. The steak was amazing and the sides were also very good. I would definitely recommend this restaurant (upstairs).

If your ready to spend two hundred dollars on a recommended meal. Get treated like trash when you walk in, put in the corner at a tiny little table and ask to move and be told nope, this is place for you. We never talked to a server for over ten minutes and left. We never even got water or a hello. We walked out and went to Sweet Frog and had a yogurt. It was better treatment!

Had dinner Friday night..was seated upstairsnice menua little pricey.but let me tell you well worth it..Strip steak was excellent. Home made bread, butters, salad dressings also. Dean our waiter 5 star also.
Live 4 hours away but may come back just for dinner again..oh don't forget desserts.yes home made also.whipped cream home made too. If you don't come here it will be your loss.
Gave it 5 stars.because no option for 6.

The service was phenomenal. Waiter was very detail oriented, friendly, and communicated the menu effectively. The food was fantastic. I had the dry aged cowboy steak for my entree and the honey horseradish shrimp for my appetizer. Both were out of this world good. Very cool building too!

All I can say is wow!!!! I was here a few weeks ago for an event dinner. I could not believe how good the food was and the server was excellent! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that I come in contact with! Thanks for the great experience

Terrific service, but food is over priced and underwhelming. Our steaks were unseasoned, and far from being 'prime'. The gratin with gorgonzola had potatoes that were not cooked through, and the 'gratin' or lovely browning that is to accompany a gratin was barely noticeable. The salad that was on the specials menu had a dressing that was so unappealing (sickly sweet, pasty and the colour of mud) it made the salad inedible. It would be nice if there were more sides that paired well with the seafood. Also, for the love of god, stop trying to sell your desserts by bringing dried up, deflated, crusty samples to the table. You would be much better served by having a nice elegant dessert menu. Imagination is everything. A cracked cheesecake says, "next".

After mountain biking with my friend we came here for an earned dinner. Great service. mojitos were fantastic mixed with the house made mint simple syrup. Steaks done perfectly. Downstairs live music played. Great attention to details.

My car broke down in Binghamton and I was having a rough evening. Dinner here completely turned the night around! I had the best service I've ever experienced. I loved the ambiance upstairs. It was so romantic and dreamy. My rescuer and I had delicious dinner and a chocolate martini. We heard live music, but I wanted to hear his voice more than the jazz. It was just the right volume from our seat. The outside is beautiful in the winter time (all year around, but winter time is best). I highly recommend this place. It is the first place I recommend to anyone in the area.

I've been to many highly rated restaurants in NYC, but no restaurant gave me better service than this one. Our waiter, Adam was very professional and knew the ins and outs of great service. Our steaks were cooked to order, and the seafood was fresh. Highly recommend to anyone who would want excellent food and excellent service. Ask for Adam as your waiter, you won't regret it!
