  NC vital records deserves a ZERO for their quality of service. My daughter’s adoption became official in March 2022 and I still have yet to receive her birth certificate. This office did; however, manage to promptly cash my check!!!
  
  I have followed the website’s directions and never received a response. I have submitted multiple requests to receive status by phone AND email. NO RESPONSE. The office’s answering machine plays an endless loop of total lies saying it will only take 5-7 days to get a response. I am completely frustrated with this broken system! I have been reaching out to NC vital records since last October with no success. Without my daughter’s birth certificate, our life is on hold… all due to this offices’ inadequacy.

  I have submitted for amendment of my daughter birth certificate due to error hospital made back in August 2021. I have sent two money orders $24 and $15. I have email, call, left messages, and submitted inquiry request for over a year now. Still have not heard back. I understand the delay but no response at all for over a year is unprofessional.

  I have been trying to obtain a COPY of a record from NC Vital Records, but the phone goes straight to voicemail and no one has returned my call. I don't need anything processed or amended. I am not trying to get my original birth certificate. Just a copy of an existing birth certificate. There is no way to make an appointment online and it says no walk-ins. I have been trying to contact them for over a month now.

  Worst service ever. I requested my son's birth certificate back in April. No one answers the phone. No one contacts me after I submit a contact request. No one returns a phone call. This is ridiculous. I need it for travel purposes. How can you not assist people. We paid for the service. You are this backlogged that you cannot answer a phone or return a call. You needs to be reported to higher powers. I will make every effort to find out who I can elevate this too and ensure that it is known that you are not doing what you are supposed to do.
  Update: someone called me, said they would have it printed and mailed out to me today. Then she calls back and says I need to go into the county and pay to get it. I paid vital records for this. Why must I now go and pay a second time. I also don't have the time or the help to go in. Basically I paid for a service that doesn't exist. I appreciated the call back but the callback was pretty much a dead-end! Something needs to be done. Can you imagine how many people desperately needs this and they are not getting help! This is ridiculous.

  I want to give this service no stars. I requested a birth certificate almost a year ago and have called several times for the status. They received my documents 2/26/2022. When I call to inquire about it I am being told the mailbox is full. I have tried several extension numbers, websites, etc. It is a shame the situation the child I am caring for lost his mom and now can’t live his life because he doesn’t have any for of identification due to slow processing time in this state. It’s clear the system is broken and need fixing. I would volunteer my services if I could just to prevent this from happening to someone else and to help others.
  
  Update: I would like to thank the individual who took the time to look into this matter. I received a copy of my application originally sent through a third party that originally sent you all my application.
  
  I will be sending this application out again tomorrow (8/15/2021). I have attached two more forms of my identification (license and military ID), a copy of my guardianship letter from the court, and a copy of this young man’s birth certificate (don’t match what I was told you all have on file).
  
  I hope you all can understand and will consider the time we have been awaiting for this issue to be rectified and the fact this young man will be 18 this September with no form of identification.
  This is enabling him from getting an ID card made, playing sports, attaining his license, employment, traveling which is complicated with our family being military, etc. Thank you again for reaching out after receiving my review.
