Awesome place to do some wine tastings, grab some grub and a beautiful gift shop. Wines are fantastic. Definitely must see if you're in the Newport area.
We love the wine here at Newport Vineyards! They have a great selection of different red and white wines and even their hard cider Rhody Coyote is pretty good. The vineyard is a great place to spend a few hours when you're on the island and the two restaurants they have serve really good food. Be prepared to spend a few dollars if you want to visit though because it's quite pricey if you buy the wine at the winery compared to a local liquor store.
Fun place. Kristi gave us a well educated and informational tour.
Fascinating process. Nice atmosphere. Wide open space. Very friendly and inviting.
Thanks so much.
This vineyard is in a great location and extremely friendly/ engaging staff. I did the wine tasting with the souvenir glass for 5 wines which was $15. I think the price is a little steep but the wine was amazing!!! I’m not much a wine drinker but that all changed after tasting their wine. I walked out with almost every bottle I had tried! I also had the pleasure of meeting one of the staff members not on the clock who helped influence which great wines to taste at this location and the next location I was headed to. Also their Rhody Cider is wonderful! The tours are free at set times.
Great place. Server was excellent in presentation of wines. Some great wines especially the whites. Quite impressive place.
Beautiful Vineyard. Lot's of indoor and outdoor space. Room for outdoor activities, including cornhole. Food choices were delicious. I just wish I could have ordered some of the food from the restaurant to been enjoyed outdoors. Wine was good. Unfortunately, they were out of the 2 wines that I really wanted to try, but otherwise it was a great experience!
I have been to many wine tastings, This one was the worst! Not only were the wines below par our server had no knowledge of wine and described each wine as her favorite and really good. When asked what grapes were used for the noir she said she she wish she knew., She was more concerned with moving us out for the next tasters. Do not leave
waste your money! Go to a package store and buys nice 20 bottle of
Wine!
The wine tasting is fun, especially on a nice day when you can enjoy the view of the vineyard and maybe play a game of Jenga or corn hole. My only complaint is the crowd. You may have to wait for a wine tasting or a table. Be prepared to be patient.
Host at the door was extremely rude. Online said walk ins are welcome but once we came with a group he said no but no explination. Then we tried to make the group smaller and go at separate times which again he said no. Then we asked again. I finally said is there just no availability and he said yes this is the fourth time and laughed at me. Completely rude and ruined the experience. Really poor customer service.
Nice place as the sun was shining and tastings were going on outside. Lawn games to play and very busy. We took the tour and tasting and it was ok. If you do the tour and tasting make sure you are not rushed for time as the tour isnt long but only 2 girls to pay for and serve the tasting so it takes a while.
Lots of wines to choose from! They offer tours and tastings and a farmer's market on Saturdays. Only took 1 star off because of the price of their wines, a little steep in my opinion. Average cost of most bottles of wine is $20+
Let me start by saying this is a nice vineyard with pretty tasty wines. The problem I have with the place is the setup and the attitude of the staff. When we arrived we were told it would be about a 20 minute wait to do a wine tasting. Ok, no problem. The problem is they told us to go stand in the gift shop for 20 minutes. I asked if we could go and have a glass of wine and they said we could but that we couldn't do a tasting If we went and had a glass of wine. They couldn't be bothered to walk over and let us know when a tasting slot became open. I flagged down a manager to let him know about my experience but rather than listening to my feedback he seemed determined to tell me why I was wrong for not wanting to stand in the gift shop as I was told. Also would it kill you to sell some cheese or other snacks with the wine or do you not like making extra money?
When I first visited this vineyard about 8 years ago I thought it fell a distant second to Sakonnet Vineyards (now Caolyn's Sakonnet Vineyards). Now, however, I believe this is the best vineyard in lil Rhody! The wine selection had expanded- as well as their premisis/tasting room- and it really is good. I always look forward to a trip down this was for another tasting and a few bottles of the local stuff.
