    My fiancé and I had a reservation for 11/11/2017. When we got to the hotel to check in about 9pm we were informed by the manager TIM that there was an issue w/our room and there were no other rooms available so we could not check in. He said he did not call us because he didn't have our phone number. Which is ridiculous because I had a reservation w/ them and provided all my contact info at booking. I have stayed there previously as well. Terrible customer service on his part as a manager! So TIM suggested we go to the QUALITY INN and they would comp the stay there as it is a comparable hotel. We were furious, because it's not comparable whatsoever, but we were tired and agreed to stay at the QUALITY INN which was a terrible decision! To make the experience worse, once we got to the QUALITY INN the manager there said that TIM had not comped our stay w/them, he only called to ask if they had availability. When she called the NEWPORT BEACH HOTEL to confirm w/ TIM they did not answer the phone and we ended up paying for the stay at QUALITY INN ourselves! We have contacted TIM numerous times by phone we have left message on his VM and w/ other hotel staff at NEWPORT BEACH HOTEL and TIM has still not returned our call or comped our stay! NEWPORT BEACH hotel could have been a potential wedding venue for us but after this experience, I will NEVER stay there again!

    Excellent hotel! Great location! Spent four days here and it was so relaxing! I loved looking out my window at the Easton Beach and the mansions! Great location for walking or riding your bike! Will def return and highly recommend!

    I stayed at the Newport Inn & Suites the weekend of getting engaged, and couldn't be happier I did. The hotel manager was forever present while staying there, and was more than kind. They made sure we had a fantastic room with beach views, and even comped a great bottle of wine for no reason other than customer service, and helping someone celebrate an important moment in their lives. So thank you to ALL the staff at Newport Inn & Suites! You helped make my engagement something special.

    Many of the negative reviews and comments on here are simply because people don't do their research, and you can see that just by reading them. They're more opinionated than factual. There's a historic building, and suites building. Know which atmosphere you're looking for with your stay at this hotel and you won't be disappointed.

    The upside; When we complained about the filthy, broom closet sized room we were sent to, the lady on the front desk was cordial, helpful and very efficient. She gave us another room which was more in keeping with the photos on their web site. Note: there are no photos of the dumpy rooms on their web site.

    The downside;
    -By the time we dealt with the room disaster, it was 8pm. We had to check out before 11 am, so basically, we could have just as well slept in our car for free.

    - The beach alluded to in the place's name, is either the swamp viewable from the miniature hot tub and cheap, dead, propane firebox on the new building's roof or the dirty chunk of land which is on the other side of a dangerous, busy race track of a road that separates the hotel from the water.

    I could go on, but there are so many reasons to not stay here, I'd have to build my own web site to list them all. Suffice to say that if you book a room in this hovel, you will regret it. Best of luck!

    Location was good! Very close to Cliff Walk and some great restaurants (Fred's Clam Shack and Atlantic Grill). The staff was friendly. We didn't realize there were 2 separate buildings. one for the older rooms and one building with newer rooms. Had we known, we would have wanted to experience the newer. The older rooms were nice (not really the living room but the bedroom and bathrooms were great) so we would have wanted to have known in order to request the nicer rooms.

    Beautiful location, but would've liked it to have been more seamlessly run for the price. The young front desk staff was friendly and warm, but our room was cleaned very late one day and not at all by the evening another day. They took care of it right away after we mentioned the oversight, but that left us with nowhere to be until it could be cleaned. It's right across a small street from the beach, within walking distance of the Cliff Walk, next door to the awesome Flo's Clam Shack, and close to some quaint restaurants. Overall we're glad we stayed here, and I believe with a little better organization, they could remedy the service concerns we had.

    My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful two-night stay! We were in town for the road race, and couldn't have been more pleased with the Newport Beach Hotel. Beautiful view from our room, GREAT night's sleep, and a very friendly and accommodating staff. We will be back!

    The Newport Inns and Suites hotel was a fabulous place to stay. The hotel staff were extremely courteous and helpful. The rooms are quaint. This restored facility is a great New England experience. If you want to drive to area attractions, it is a convenient stay. If you are a walker, you can get to downtown Thames street easily in about 20 minutes. Have breakfast at the Atlantic Grill, an easy walk from the hotel. Thanks to all for a great weekend. Looking forward to next year.

    Checked in on my Birthday 2016 and I have gone back to the location a few times to ask about business. I was curious to see how people responded to the difference between some rooms being highly renovated and others still awkwardly archaic. but cozy enough. my room when I stayed had a ceiling and floor that took to a certain non 90 degree angle. and don't believe a man above 6'4" would comfortably have stood in there. ha. but the gym down the way was top notch machines. my friends room had a killer view and freshly painted walls. I was still stuck with paisley prints and a bathroom that needed another wipe down. but the staff was so accomodating. Didn't I review this place already? anyway4 stars.

    Hotel staff was very accommodating. Check-in was fast with no issues. Our king suite was very clean and well kept. Hotel also has 2 hot tubs(one on the roof top overlooking the beach) and an indoor heated swimming pool. I definitely recommend staying at Newport Beach Hotel & Suites.
