We finally made the voyage to New Glarus Brewery this summer and we were not disappointed. The tour is self guided so you can take your time walking through the brewery. They also have a gift shop there so you can get all of your New Glarus and beer specific swag to take home. The crown jewel of the brewery is the beer garden. It is in a massive courtyard on the hillside overlooking the hills and fiels south of the city of New Glarus. There are trails to walk on and lots of old Bavarian castle ruins to look at on the trails and around the seating areas. Also with the beer samples, they also have a few food options as well to wash the beer down with. If you are a fan of New Glarus beer, this place is a must see for you.

My fiance and I had a great time at New Glarus Brewery! We were here for 3 hours! We sampled the different beers, took pictures all around their beautiful bier gardens, and bought some treasures in the gift shop! You get to keep your glasses you sample from which is awesome!
You know that this is the best beer on the market so it's not going to have your basic beer price.or taste! I think everything is priced right for the service, ambiance, and taste! We loved it!response / report this review -

A must see stop if you are in the area. The beers are awesome, the gift store has plenty of offerings and the outside patio areas very unique in architecture and layout. The had a parking area where we could park our Class C RV and walk up some beautiful stone steps

Nothing here makes any sense. First, if you’re a designated driver - be ready to be thirsty, hungry, and bored. Besides water, some random sting cheese or other gas station snacks, and twiddling your thumbs, there is nothing here for you. For beer lovers, be ready to be completely underwhelmed. The beer is the same as what you find at the store but you’ll pay more to have a drink here. Where will you sit? Outside. Really. There is no beer hall or inside facility. Hope it doesn’t rain or, maybe even worse, hope it isn’t super hot outside. Why? There are absolutely zero covering over their outside beer garden. No awnings, no shelters, not even an umbrella at the picnic table. Want a beer? Better know which one you want because they only have certain beers at certain stands. Go walk around you say? Watch your step. Some idiot designed the place to be like a gardens - without the plants. It’s all uneven stone steps everywhere. People drinking, looking for a place to sit, walking around the grounds, dropping their drinking glasses (yes, they are glass), nearly falling down steps, twisting ankles this place is a nightmare.

If you are a fan of craft beer, actually enjoy and know what good beer is avoid coming here at all costs. They are an overpriced tourist trap. For being the source of the beer they make, they don't have anything on tap you couldn't find at most decent craft beer bars. Their beer depot is a joke go to pick n save and save 25% take a page from real craft breweries where they actually want to share their exclusive beers on tap not $15 for r&d bottle or overpriced thumbprint series you can find elsewhere for cheaper. There's no middle man, you should sell this stuff for cheaper not for more! The grounds are beautiful definitely nice but if you are coming here for the beer, pass. Commercial breweries like Miller, Coors and Budweiser were more enjoyable than this place. It's very commercial, boring, overpriced and not memorable. Read the other 1 star reviews they are accurate.

Nice atmosphere for older adults. Not so much fun for kids. Really looks nice with lots of tasting choices. Much more commercial than it used to be. Has a festival or weekend bar feel to it.

Overall, a pretty nice brewery with a great view, especially in the late summer and early fall. That being said, be sure to bring your money with you. It's not a cheap trip there. You'd think with making the trip all the way to New Glarus (middle of nowhere, Wisconsin) that they could provide you with a discount on beers in the tasting room. Nope. Instead it costs $8 for a beer, with the nice thing being you get to keep the glass. And refills are $5.50. If you just like their beer, save yourself a trip and just go buy your favorite beers in Wisconsin.

The new Strawberry Rhubarb is a must try. So much flavor. Tons of strawberry with a rhubarb finish.

Brewery location high on the Wisconsin hill combined with unique Swiss modern architecture is a must see. Self guided tour gives you brewery access to everything with a beer in hand. The outside beer gardens is a must see unique experience.

March trip. Self guided tour had no information of what you were looking at in each location. Getting to see bottling was pretty neat though. Only four flavors to sample, and they were the same four you can get year round from anywhere in the state. Not impressed with cost vs. sampling. On cold day, like my trip, there is no warm place to sit and sip.

we took the hard hat tour and it was so awesome! Tour guide was super knowledgable and passionate about his job and the company. The new expansion is absolutely impressive and amazing. If you love beer, this tour is a must!!

Have always liked the beer so had to see where it is made! Great location, make sure to check out the town. Brewery tour would have been better if a description of what you were looking at was providedsignage, brochure, etc.
