We love this restaurant. My daughter brought us here years ago and it is consistently wonderful. I usually chose off the buffet but my brother, who is vegetarian, chooses from the menu and finds a lot to select from. Service is wonderful, mango lassies are incredible and we always look forward to dinner there. I've tried several Indian restaurants and this one is the best. I think the very few not good reviews are from competitors!
Great food, good prices and friendly hosts/owners. The buffet is a very quick way to get a good meal. Thank you!
The food was delicious. Waitress was extremely friendly and pleasant. Portions were a good size. Prices reasonable. I will definitely return.
I've been here on occasion over the course of the past 13 years. It's always been owned by the same family, who are some of the kindest people I've ever met.
I'm no Indian cuisine expert, but I've tried several Indian places in my time and I always prefer here. The lamb pasanda is my all time favorite. They put on a very nice buffet on Tuesdays and Sundays, great for someone who is new to Indian cuisine!
Best Indian place around. Buffet night on Sunday's is a favorite. Family friendly, bring your own booze (they will give you a frosted chilled glass for your beer!).
I came to neelam last night for dinner with my family of 5 and this place accommodated us very quickly. The food is great and the service is really good. What I would recommend eating is the roasted eggplant with peas and the lamb. Also, the shrimp is really good too. If you haven't been here yet, you must check it out!
The best Indian food in the area. I highly recommend the lunch buffet. It's $10 and all you can eat. The prices are fair and there is a great variety of food.
If you google Indian food in Monmouth County this place comes up as the best or one of the best. And I agree, 100%. This is my favorite place for vegetarian food in the area. The vegetarian dinner where you get three items, soup, and naan for $17 is an amazing deal. And the food is incredible. Absolutely incredible. And I've eaten a lot of Indian Food in my life - mostly in NYC. Also my boyfriend asks to go here pretty much every time we look at each other and say "what's for dinner." And before he met me he rarely if ever got Indian food. And he's fairly picky about what food he'll give 5 stars to but Neelam gets the 5 stars. Every single time we go there! The consistency in the quality of the food means I never have to worry that I'm spending $50 on dinner every week that is good some times and not so good other times. There has never been a meal where we didn't walk away going that was delicious.
And the staff is also amazing. Whether you are eating there or taking out they treat you amazing. It's a real family atmosphere when you eat there.
Taste doesn't match the price of the food. Very slow service. We ordered veg appetizer(for 2) which was below par. Samosas were decent. Pakoras were not crispy and were less on salt and spice. Garlic and butter nan's were not good and overly priced. I ordered masala chai which was not great. Overall this place needs improvement. "Taste Matters".
Fantastic Indian food. Was a huge fan of the briani (not sure if that is how it's spelled). I take my Indian friends here when they come to town.
Fantastic food and service! They helped us order since we didn't understand the menu and gave fantastic recommendation. Can't wait to come back!
My husband and I love this restaurant. Spicy Tika Marsala is my favorite and they always know I'll order it but it's the BEST. Lovely staff. We love to celebrate over a meal at Neelam as a couple.
FINALLY. Delicious, local Indian food. Had the chicken korma, would definitely go back for that again. Huge menu and perfect portions. Very nice staff. You know a place is good when the dining room has a lot of people in it. Highly recommended :)
Update 2 yr later, still awesome.
