We stayed at the yurt in Musher's Village and had a great time exploring the area. The yurt is cozy and comfortable and the cabin is well stocked with cooking supplies. The setting is beautiful, and we could watch the full moon rise while we sat around the campfire. Our kids loved getting to visit the sled dogs and learn about dogsledding.
Great place to visit and see sled dogs and staff.great tours in winter with snow
Experience was great, the dogs love to run! They get so excited to run and are well trained to do so. For a first timer, it was surprisingly worry free
Excellent place to do Dog Sledding!
Can't wait to sled again!
This is THE place to experience sled dogs! :-) Ed & Tasha Stielstra have a well deserved, long standing reputation for excellent dog care.
Tasha and her handpicked team of guides are not only skilled mushers, they are patient teachers and fun to be with. Their pride in happy, healthy dogs and providing a true sledding experience is so very evident. These are exceptional people caring for some amazing dogs. They (the dogs!) LOVE to RUN :-)
I speak from a background as a recently retired AAHA pet practice DVM of 37 years. This is a great place, great people.

Before you read any further, give Tasha a call and book your dog sled tour! Simply incredible - Tasha was super flexible in booking a night ride for my girlfriend and I (they typically book these a few days before/after the full moon) and our guide TJ was the best. When we got to the property it was pitch black and we got a tour of the kennel by headlamp. 150 Alaskan Huskies barking and howling in excitement (they don't normally get visitors at night) and we could see was their glistening eyes. Again, no comparable experience. They let us hook on and meet our dogs, who are all incredible and lovable and then we were off. It was a 10-mile, hour long trip, which was the perfect length, and at times it felt like we were flying up and down snowy banks, with the stars popping out of the sky. Truly unforgettable and all of this for around the same price as renting a snowmobile (this is 100x better).
Again, if you are anywhere near the UP in the winter, this is a must-do activity.
