Great contemporary art institution in Cleveland that everyone should visit. It is a non collecting musium so the shows are always changing and there are new exhibits every time that you go back.

We got in free and still felt cheated! The museum store was infinitely better than the museum itself. Stop in at Mitchel's Icecream afterwards and you'll feel less bad.

I know some people love opera, while others prefer gangsta rap. I personally love lots of styles of music but don't like either of those two styles. I guess fine art is the same. I love the impressionists, the masters, and enjoy cubist and modern art.That said, I just don't "get" a lot of CONTEMPORARY art. So while I appreciate the MOCA space, the art inside didn't move me.

Refreshing to be surrounded by art & people who are truly interested in it. People watching was at the top of my list, wasn't disappointed. Found out they will accommodate weddings receptions.Nice. Dance ensembles practice outside, you can get in a free preformance!

Although this is a small museum, their collection is not permanent, and travels. This means that there will usually always be something new when you go. I was able to see Lu Yang's Delusional Mandala, and much more. I've been to the Cleveland Museum of Art, but something about the MOCA, I really enjoyed. There were very few people in the museum at the time of me going, and the atmosphere and exhibitions whispered contemporary art to me. Each room had it's own personality almost, some being erotic. Overall, I highly recommend this museum!

Being a fan of contemporary art I couldn't be happier than to visit MOCA. I loved the artist selfie installation and the spaces inside the unique building really enhance the art inside.

Interesting architecture regarding the building but also creates lots of wasted space. Very few actual art exhibits and the interactive area is just scissors & papers for kids to make collages very limited, lots of wasted space and very little actual art.
Tried to be nice and leave two stars but really had to be honest, complete waste of time.response / report this review -

This museum is overall really unique and interesting. The staff are very friendly and are happy to assist you with anything you need and answer any questions you have. Their gift shop, while not the cheapest place to get stuff (that's kind of expected, though), is just as nice a place to look around as the exhibits.
As for the exhibits themselves, I often find them to be a hit or a miss. The second floor always has one or two great interactive exhibit(s) that both kids and adults can enjoy, like making your own collage or writing down on a piece of paper what you imagine your future to be. There's a staircase inside the main staircase that's painted yellow along the floor and walls where cool music echoes around the inside as you go up.
The main exhibits wildly vary in terms of artistry. On one side of the coin, the exhibits show something really ingenuitive and imaginative, while in other times, it's the stereotypical pretentious let's-paint-a-black-dot-on-a-white-canvas-and-call-it-art bullcrap.
For that, however, it's best to go to the main website and check to see what they have first. If you feel like you don't mind paying money to go see the newest exhibit, then I absolutely recommend this museum for you.response / report this review -

I saw Mark Mothersbaugh's exhibition there. It was free admission for the museum and the concert area just outside the building, which has a very interesting architecture. I'd definitely recommend anyone to check it out.
