The food here really is top notch. We came by for a Saturday brunch. I got pancakes and an egg on the side, all quite good. I also heard great things about the malted waffles. I'd definitely like to check this place out again next time I'm in the area.

Excellent food to pair with delicious wines in a comfortable, neighborhood setting. I've been here for wine tastings, an evening with friends, and a night out, and I've enjoyed every visit. You can visit their wine shop in back, though most of their wines for sale are past my typical price range All in all, its a great place to stop in Virginia Highlands.

I ordered the Thanksgiving dinner to go.
For the money it was alot of food!
If you follow the easy instructions included everything is absolutely perfect. I am rarely this pleased.
I highly recommend their holiday dinner. Everyone was efficient and kind as well.
    What a find!

Good was just ok nothing special. It could have used some seasoning and then it would have been better. They are overpriced for what you get. Even the sides were expensive. You can expect to spend about $100 for a couple with entrees and dessert. Service was great!

Food was great! The price of the food was great. We got the wings and they were huge 10 wings for $11. Awsome place will be back for sure.

Prior to yesterday I had only dined at Murphy's for magnificent brunch. Excellent coffee & great service always brought me back. I also love their policy about not seating partial parties or taking reservations during brunch. Tables don't sit empty & it's much more efficient than other busy breakfast spots in town. Eggs Benedict is sublime.

Yesterday we stopped in for a very late lunch while in the neighborhood & loved the reasonably priced menu. We shared the crab avocado toast and it was perfect. Both of our meals were tasty & fun & we had great service from Jessi. Love this spot!

Brunch is the best. However, go early because they do not take reservations for brunch. Staff is warm and friendly, food was delicious. Expansive wine options for dinner as well.

Very disappointing experience. Came here for my fathers birthday (group of 5) with a reservation. They sat us at a table made to seat 4 right by the kitchen, the guest of honor was forced to sit in a chair in the middle of the servers path to the kitchen and bar.
Every drink was overwhelmed with ice and watered down. The mint watermelon margarita tasted like diluted mouthwash.
Slow service and completely bland food.
Won't be coming back here again. Too bad.

    HOW A *4* BECAME A 2.5

I had high expectations for this restaurant considering the fact my boyfriend raved about how he had been a twenty year patron. The experience started off nice as we were greeted by a bubbly host and we were seated immediately.

After we sat is when the highly underwhelming dining experience began, we were given very bland/ uninterested/ unenthusiastic service . All servers should have a basic understanding of how to engage a new customer whether it is:
    - hello or good evening my name is
    - is this your first time dining with us
    - what brought you out this evening/ what is the occasion
    - let me tell you about our establishment

No establishment should take advantage of the means of its customer base. As a restauranteur, we must always remember that when a customer patronizes our business they are actively paying with their time and wage. Based on the average bill at Murphy's for two will be roughly $120 for appetizers, dinner, drinks ,and dessert. Based on the 2017 median college graduates hourly income
Which equates to $24.00 before taxes and $16.81 after taxes. In short, my dining experience cost me 7.13 work hours, without tip for an experience that lasted less than 1 hour. When restaurants and staff fail to recognize this in diminishing economy the connection can be lost forever. Make no mistake Murphy's has been around for 35 years and they are in no risk of going anywhere anytime soon.

But, remember no one is Too big to fail.

    HIGHLIGHTS:
The meatloaf was to die for and the Pepper shrimp was amazing. Everything I ate tonight was as great as what my boyfriend described it to be for him over the past 22 years. I hope that they can find more suitable server to represent what the founders created 35 years ago.

As a left Murphy's, my boyfriend asked the delightful bartender the name of our server Blake.

PS: My boyfriend would like for you all to bring back the Murphy's baked potato and the original crab cake recipe.

It was my first time and I've no doubt it's a solid place, but my experience wasn't good. I ordered the mulligan - two poached eggs, bacon, potatoes, cheddar. It came with two poached eggs and potatoes. No bacon, no cheese. Person I was eating with wasn't happy either. Waiter made some oddly unfriendly comments as well and we never even mentioned the problems with the food. Eggs and potatoes were good and poached eggs aren't always easy to pull off.

The margin on brunch is high and that's ok - it's an experience after all, but the least a restaurant can do in return is make it a pleasant experience. I'm sure others had a better time, but I couldn't recommend them and there are many great options nearby.

This service is slow/non-existent with very little personal touch. It's popular and has a great ambiance with the architecture and layout, but the atmosphere is more like a Mexican food restaurant with the quick-in, quick-out mood from the waiters.

Our waiter was extremely slow at everything, not personable and left our drinks empty until requested for a refill.

The menu is satisfactory for the foodie.

Prices are your normal average-high ITP Atlanta prices.

    Overall impression was basically 'meh'

Probably won't go back unless I'm invited to go with someone that's already going.

Used to be a favorite. Middle of the week, 1/3 full and while seated quickly, do not get greeted for drinks for 10 min AFTER I got up and found a manager. The table next to us had drinks but was obviously waiting sometime to put in their order and was frustrated. When the sever got over to them, without greeting us to even say they will be right with us, she told them about her busy day in accounting and that she had to stay to serve as well. Gave us same sad story. Well not our problem. If they had just greeted quickly and told us they were behind we would be fine, things happen. It was managements fault more then server. They should be aware of these things. They manager did bring us a comp appetizer while we were waiting but that was after I had to seek them out and our experience was already ruined. Behind schedule and in a hurry at this point we were too hungry to see straight so we just ordered a couple of burgers, they were average, a $7 burger, not $12. Worst of all The fries were the cheapest frozen style from a a bag, nothing special at all. What a huge disappointment!

I've been here twice now, and after this last time I won't be returning. My girlfriend and I both ordered the buttermilk fried chicken half sandwich and salad for lunch. The buttermilk chicken was so sweet that for her it was inedible. It had this jam that almost tasted like a sweet Asian chili sauce that just didn't go with the crispy breading. Because of the sauce, the breading became soggy and fell into the bread. She barely ate her salad because it hurt her teeth it was so cold. The service is amazing, but unfortunately the food was disappointing.

Let's start this off right, the restaurant looks small from the outside but it is quite large on the inside. The feel of the restaurant is very inviting like a familiar place that I have been to before, but it this was my first time. There a good amount of wine to chose from, with equal amount of champagne to chose also.

Now on to the food, depending on the time frame you come here will determine what you could chose from. As for myself, I had the brunch menu, with their buttermilk pancakes. It came with three buttermilk pancakes, strawberries, some whip cream on the side. For my drink I had a Zen tea, that come with hot water in a small tea pot, honey, and lemon (it was a delicious tea).
