Rooms are decent with a pretty modern feel, however the floors are hardwood instead of carpeted which paired with the nearly paper thin walls make any sense of privacy go right out the window. Not to mention that you can clearly hear your neighbor as well as every single person who graces the hallway. I asked for a late check-out when reserving and was told that wouldn't be a problem. Imagine my surprise when the hotel manager was pounding on my door at 11:15 the next morning saying I needed to leave or pay for another night. I told him I was supposed to have a late check-out and he responded "we gave you 15 minutes, that is a late check-out" Granted I had been awake for a while due to the housekeeper repeatedly slamming into the outside of the door with the vacuum cleaner for literally 10 minutes at 8am and already had my things packed and ready. Nonetheless I thought this was a terrible show of any kind of customer service standards. Also worth noting, the heat wouldn't work on any setting other than low (which is barely a breeze), the hot tub was out of order even though when I reserved (earlier the day of my stay) I was assured that it was functional, only one of the side entrances was functional, you almost needed 4WD to park in the parking lot, the cleanliness of the room was sub-par at best, I was only given one towel, washcloth, and hand towel (no bathmat), the in room coffee maker didn't work, the refrigerator barely kept drinks cold, and to top it off Upon mentioning all this at the front desk during check out I was offered no apology, no complimentary night and no discount on my stay. In fact they attempted to charge me 10 dollars more than what I reserved the room for. To say the least I will never personally stay here again and I recommend you don't either. It's establishments such as these thatake me wish you could grant Anti-stars. My advice is to go to the Motel 6 about 12 miles away in Wausau, it's cheaper, nicer, and has a much better customer service standard.
I spent three nights with Motel 6. The price I got was fantastic, they let me check in two hours early, and the staff was very friendly, the carpet in the hallways was very clean for the amount of traffic it probably gets. The first room that I was in was not cleaned well at all. There were dirty sheets on the bed, the floors weren't clean, the shower hadn't been cleaned because there was a black moldy soap scum ring and hair in the shower. My heat didn't work so they moved me to a different room, which was cleaned like it should be. The next morning, house keeping was knocking on my door at 7:45am, which is unacceptable to me. I left my room for the day a couple hours later, and when I returned at 5:30pm, I discovered that they had never returned to my room. My bed was unmade, my garbages were overflowing, and I didn't have fresh towels. The beds were the worst thing I have ever slept on. When checking out, I went to the front desk to turn in my keys and get a receipt. They asked me what I needed, and I had to tell them to give me a receipt. Normally hotels automatically print you one.
The hotel clearly exceeded our expectations. The lobby was large and nice (a little dated) with coffee and tea available near the check-in desk. The desk person was friendly and had our reservation all set. The room was of average size or perhaps a little bigger, two queen beds. It appeared to have been recently updated, with comfortable beds and bedding. The bath had a new vanity and shower. The room was clean and well maintained. The hotel had pool, and it was nice. The common areas were clean . The price for our stay was unbelievable, a little less than a third of what we had paid the night before for a similar hotel. I definitely recommend this hotel.
The entire place was being remodeled, hot tub was out of commission, tape and plastic wrap on everything, the place didn't look open when we pulled up, nobody at the front desk when trying to check in, had to wait 10 minuted before someone showed up. The room was mostly new, but not very well done, lots of nail holes still in the walls, no iron or blow dryer in the room. Not a great experience.
You could tell they were remodeling, which shows they are doing their best to keep it looking great. The rooms all got a make over as well since we were there a year ago. No carpet, which is weird, but cleaner. For what we paid, ($40) It was great! not one of those, you get what you pay for things! Very pleased!
Exhaust fan in bathroom very noisy. Also in-room mini fridge very loud, had to unplug for the night. Bed was comfortable
This place sucks! The people who work there are mean and when I woke up in the middle of the night to go pee it was like 4:30 am the toilet overflowed and when I called he said he would give me a new room instead he flushed it said it was fine and cleaned up the mess and made me sit in the lobby tell about 5:30-6 am so I didn't get much sleep was very upset I would not recommend this place!! He wouldn't refund or comp. Extremely rude and a horrible place!
The motel is currently being updated. There are chain restaurants closeby. The rooms were updated and modern. Free Wi-Fi is provided.
This is a very fairly priced and affordable room for the money. Disregard the bad reviews, they have remodeled and all rooms are nice. Cold A/C. Pool is clean. Staff is friendly. Would definitely stay again and hope too soon!
the upcoming renovations looked great! price was spot on!
The only downfall is that we had to change the linens, and our Jacuzzi tub in our room was under maintinence. but to be honest I was mildly impressed!!
Staff was very friendly, had to use the phone at the service desk to get service but most of time they were there to help in a matter of a couple of minutes. They explained the construction they were doing, room was very clean. Did not like the adjoining but they did not rent out the one next to us so it was okay, kids enjoyed the pool, but hot tub was down for repairs. Overall pleasant! One light switch didn't do anything but not a big deal.
This is more a 3.5 start review than a 3 star one. Very affordable rates, but the hotel is under construction and the AC unit in my room didn't work. Certainly worth while if you need a place to stay on a tight budget.
I picked Motel 6 because it was close to the dog show site I was attending. However, it offered a swimming pool and spa so I brought along my granddaughter for some fun. The weather was supposed to be nice as well, but the pool is an indoor pool. When we got there the pool had been closed indefinitely by local offices, like the health dept. Hot tub as well. We decided to stay anyway as we were in our room by the time we realized it. Then the air conditioner didn't work very well and we asked for a fan which the motel doesn't offer so it was less than comfortable in the room. The bed frames are made so that the mattresses actually slide back and forth on them which caused me pain as I am disabled. Overall it was a most disappointing experience as I have stayed in many Motel 6's and have been quite happy. This, however, was not one of those times. Very, very disappointed.
