Equipment was all in good working order. Process for getting in the water was well-organized. Cost was incredibly reasonable. The icing on the cake was the location. We saw more wildlife in three hours then we did during the remaining four days of our trip. Otters and seals were abundant. Lots of birds too. Appreciate that all the necessary equipment, including wetsuits and wind breakers, was included in the cost of the rental. We flew in from out of state.
I've been kayaking in the Elkhorn Slough location three times and seen many otters, seals, pelicans, and other birds each time. It's amazing to see so much wildlife after paddling away from the highway for just a few minutes. It can be chilly, so it's very convenient that wetsuits and jackets are provided.
Beautiful views and the wildlife is everywhere while kayaking. The tutorial is short enough to hold interest and comprehensive enough to hold interest. Overall a very fun experience.
First time visiting and all of the employees were so knowledgeable and helpful. The rent included all the gear for the entire day until close or check in, as well as a good best tips orientation to get going quickly for first timers. They made it a great experience, and can’t wait to come back.
Visited here twice now. Fast becoming a favorite for a family day out or to enjoy with friends. Staff is friendly, helpful and thorough. Equipment is in reasonable shape. The Elkhorn slough experience is brilliant. We'll be back.
Kayaking at Moss landing is probably one of the most interesting experience of my Kayaking life. There are 100s of otters in the water washing themselves and popping their heads out of the water while you are kayaking.
Monterey bay kayak makes it very easy for you to experience this beautiful place. The kayak rental is $30 for entire day, which includes a brief training, wet suits/ wind breakers or any other gear you want to keep yourself dry and warm. They also give you instructions on what to do if the wind picks up and you are not a good kayaker.
The staff was very helpful, experienced and funny too. I had a great time here and I am definitely returning back.
Tip: Would be great if you chose a warm sunny day, bring layers, bring extra cloths just in case you get wet, they dont provide shoes so bring something you dont mind getting wet. And do not get closer than 50m from wild life - disturbing wildlife is up to 20k in fines.
Great place to get a rental and go see some wildlife. Prices are reasonable and they have all the equipment you will need. Friendly staff, but a long training and you have to pay for parking. All in all, a wonderful experience.
