Well, this is another place I just found out my husband took a DIFFERENT female companion to instead of me, his wife. So as long as he's taking other women to these places, I won't be able to give an accurate assessment to you. You'll have to ask them. Sorry. Looks nice though. Look on the map and they even put a little ❤ there. Now isn't that special? Gag
Nice place for weekend camping. Short drive from Peninsula. Cons: almost no trees= no shade. Campsites are too close, you live like on a giant group campsite.
A comfortable trail to walk/jog alone or with your dog. Shading and water is scarce, so better come prepared. Due to the isolation of the location, highly recommend not to go alone
Hot hot hot hot it was burning hot day and was lucky enough to have good parking next to the entrance. There are ample amounts of dog baggies available and trash cans. Also you will find horses, dogs, and lots of lots of bikers roaming around the park. I definitely would recommend bringing lots of water and making sure to wear your sunblock. Free parking which is always nice as well as multiple entries.
Used to be a Great place to Mountain bike. They allowed the cows to completely destroy the trails. Please get the cows off the trails!
We had a great hike and managed not to get eaten by mountain lions which you'd think were around every corner from the signs.
This is an easy to reach park with camping and water activities opportunity. Camp site is busy but there is not many people there. You can also have a nice picnic next to the lake etching people boating. The hike is mostly exposing and you can have a decent view into Gilroy and the lake. The overall view is nothing spectacular but it is a friendly park to come with family. And there is entry fee.
Great place to unwind and relax. Sunset is beautiful and the lake is teaming fish! Campsite is good. Wildlife was beautiful The only reason I gave 4 stars is that there was no running water the 1st day we were there, but they called a day or two ahead to warn us and offered to refund our money. As we had already requested vacation, we went anyway and truly enjoyed ourselves. It's hard to believe there is someplace so serene so close!
