Nice place, good food unless you're a huge fan of the soup. It was little more than water (no flavor). The wait staff was good but the chef's are a toss up. The prices are about the same as other places but the portions seemed smaller

I really like this restaurant. Our chef, BJ, I think is his name, was stellar. Food is delicious! I only wish there were more vegetables.

We enjoy this place but the sushi rolls have gotten so small. I can eat two pieces at once.

Edit/Update: We decided to go back to Mizu tonight and I am extremely disappointed. The water tasted like dirty dishwater. We had to return it (who returns water and HOW do you mess that up?). The rolls were absolutely tiny and the rice was cold and hard. I also found a black hair in one of the sushi rolls. Once I saw that I was done once and for all. Never again will we return.

Great food, good sushi, I've never had to wait for a table. They are pretty good at getting you in and out in a timely fashion. Also, their birthday celebration is exciting.

Always very pleased with the Sushi options, presentation, and taste. Extensive menu with a variety of appetizers, salads, sushi, and hibachi offerings. Hibachi chef was pleasant and entertaining, but it was the same shtick one usually sees. 2 people w/o alcohol $65.

This is the best sushi in the entire state. When we came in to eat, our server, named Wei, was super polite and helpful. The sushi selection is quite extensive, and the fish used is top notch. I try to come anytime I'm in Birmingham longer than a day.

Good hibachi, nice atmosphere. Steak and chicken combo was delicious, and the staff was courteous. No complaints from me on this one.

I had a very racist experience at this restaurant. Me and my family( who are black) went their to celebrate an event. There were 2 Caucasian families sitting at the grill when we came in, we sat at the table leaving one chair in between us so we wouldn't be so cramped, the waitress, who was a blond white woman, insisted we not leave the empty chair in between, I noticed the two white families had done the same and nothing was said. She was very friendly with the white families, talking with them and seemed upset that we were even there. She came back a second time and asked that we not leave the empty chair, mind you she never mentioned anything to the white families about the same thing. I told we were not moving, she started arguing with me and went and got the manager(over us leaving 1 empty chair in between us), the manager actually told us we DID NOT HAVE TO MOVE AND THIS WAS NOT A PROBLEM! By this point, I felt very disrespected, singled out and we left. I told the manager and waitress that for a waitress to single us out(we are black) for something so petty, was really disappointing in 2017. This was my first and last time at this restaurant.

Go to the Alabaster location. They do much better. They gave us less good than alabaster. My noodles were half the amount as my husband's. The salmon was way undercooked and I have never had an issue with that anywhere. My mother in law got the same amount of steak as us when she ordered just steak. When I confirmed this with the staff I was asked well what did I want. I told them nothing I would just go to Alabaster next time after all when I spend $21I expect the food that was ordered. She said she'd get the manager but never did (I didn't ask for one). They are good but it is worth the drive to get what you order. Oh and my husband's steak was chewy. Normally it is super tender. Mine was fine but I tasted his and it definitely was not tender.

We were seated immediately, service was fantastic and our chef was very entertaining. The food was great. We had sushi and hibachi. Steak cooked to my liking and the scallops were delicious! It was my sisters birthday and she was visiting from out of town. She was impressed and felt like she was treated special by the staff. We will definitely go back!
