The service was the worst I can remember ever having. We'd been here once before while visiting because they have vegan options, and we remembered that the food was pretty good. However, this time not only was the food so very greasy, it was thrown together sloppy and wasn't what we ordered, some of it was not even edible - we were also treated very rudely, and then completely ignored. First time I've ever not left a tip in my life and we won't go back.

surprisingly good food for a place off the beaten path. Get the pork tacos! They make excellent cocktails. Great spot for live performances. They have mead! Just a really cool vibe and decor.

Just sat down at 930 pm in ARLINGTONfor a smoked prime rib dinner!! It came complete with perfect mashed potatoes and yummy brown gravy and a side salad I had to take home. I was full. The Chef smoked the prime rib and my cut was a delicious medium-rare!
I love the Mirkwood..always have! I love the people, the music, the creative vibe and the fact that EVERYONE fits in here!! But until now..I usually eat before I get here!
Never again. Perfect steaks, fantastic smoked pork street tacos, a to-die for pulled pork sandwich and smoked chicken wings. I'll be trying more.
You should try the new spot for late night BBQ in Arlington!! Your tummy will thank you!!

Rude bartenders and watery drinks made wrong. Tables were all sticky dirty and bathroom was straight up nasty. Food was disgusting and music sounded horrible through their blown cracking speakers.

The nachos were very lackluster but the burgers were good. Service was awful but friendly. Google suggested the restaurant to us and the atmosphere was the weirdest we had ever experienced. A strange combo of restaurant/bar, church, and a tattoo parlor. The experience was not bad just strange and confusing. We won't be back, but I'm sure it's right for some people.

The venue is great! Staff is nice. The live music is wonderful however tonight the second groups sound system was turned up too loud. Group was good, just too loud and piercing our ears. Age group was early 20's to mid 40's and we all agreed with that. So we know it wasn't an old person thing. That is the only reason we left at 10:30 pm

I hadn't been to Mirkwood in about 7 years, and it's certainly changed a lot. The whole bar/grill/public house/music venue direction makes sense, but the food wasn't nearly as good as I remembered. It tasted like, well, bar food. Bar food with better ingredients no doubt, but greasy, very heavy on the dairy, and generally the kind of food I could imagine myself eating while drinking like a fish and doing my best to not get drunk. Also seemed heavy on the salt, a typical bar food strategy: eat salty, get thirsty, drink more, get dehydrated, drink even more, etc.

Anyway, if you're passing through and want some decent pub food, there's probably not much else around. They do say they can make any dish vegan, and I very much appreciate that, but What happened to your old veggie burger patty? This one appeared to be deep fried, was fairly dry, and crumbled like crazy.

I recently have attended The Mirkwood Public House. I did enjoy the atmosphere. What I did not enjoy is the bartender I experienced.

The first time, I attended the Public house the male bartender I had was terrible. I expressed it was my first time, and there was a lack of enthusiasm he was texting on his phone right in front of us, as we asked what he was doing he "claimed" he was typing our order. Then my friends that I was with that I had ordered with at the same time with revived their food. It took another 45 minutes for my food to arrive and it was cold. He never even offered a percentage off, or even offered to pay for my meal.
When I worked at a restaurant if anything of this nature happen we took the hit, and paid for the meal.

The second time, I attended on a slow day there were 2 other patrons in the bar, it took an hour and 15 minutes before I was even asked to order as myself and my partner that stood at the bar, while the same bartender and a separate lady bartender argued about a tip, and then continued to talk as we stood right in front of them. Waiting to get our order taken.

The third time, I attended it was again on a slow day, including my group their were 4 patrons in the bar, 3 were with myself. Again stood at the bar to get our drinks, this time we got them with speed. We wanted to pay right then, but the same bartender sat on his phone and would not even look our way we even said rather loudly we should just leave and he never even looked up. As soon as he decided to pay attention what i'm assuming is another male bartender walked up and they decided it was an appropriate time to count out the register. At which point they had us standing for another good 30 minutes waiting to pay because they could not accept our cash at that time. I've worked in service my whole life. If you have to count a till out make sure you have somewhere else that you can take cash never make your customers wait.

We then asked a little about him, and we learned this is the bar manager.
Anyone who allows such lackadaisical employees be a manager is not a very smart owner.

One of the better places in Arlington for food.. So 4 stars for the area. More like 2 to 3 stars compared to cities like Anacortes or Everett.

I feel like I was mislead about what this place is. This is a venue that serves food, definitely not a restaurant.

We ordered pancakes and grilled cheese around 8pm on a Thursday. The place was pretty dead; there were maybe ten customers in the whole building. At 9pm I asked if our food had been started, and the perfectly polite waiter told me it was second in line. After an hour of waiting! With only a handful of customers!! We left because we didn't have another hour to spend waiting.

Definitely don't go here expecting food without an exorbitant wait for no apparent reason.

Will not patronize again. I am from California and visit the area once a year. I found this place last year and absolutely loved it. The food was good, the people were cool and the music was awesome. I am back in the area and was excited to go back. I was looking for the address on the website and looked at the menu to decide what I wanted to eat. Well, I was so disappointed to see that they are now serving meat (even if it's organic). It had an all vegetarian menu when I was there last year. I am a strict vegetarian and my wife is a strict vegan. I try to solely patronize restaurants that are all vegetarian to support them. There are alternative all vegetarian restaurants in the area, so I will try a new place instead this time. This is such a let down.
