I hardly write reviews but just had to on this one. Awesome food and atmosphere!!! It is tucked back into a strip mall but do not let that fool you. This place is legit! If you have room for dessert you have to try donut, cooked when ordered. You will not leave hungry for sure..Just go.

DONUTS!!! Unless Ms. Virginia has been by and bought them all already. We stopped on the way to the beach and are so glad we did. Excellent food, exceptional friendly staff, very clean, fun decor..great restaurant all around. Definitely stop here. We will be back!

Simply astonishing. All homemade, amazing entrees and delectable desserts, flavor and quality were off the charts, and the service made it feel like visiting family instead of eating out!
One of our new staples, can’t wait to come back.

Some of the best food in the area! Pricing was extremely reasonable, the service was outstanding, and the restaurant was very clean and tidy. Everything I ordered was perfect. The fried green beans were amazing, but the homemade donuts made fresh to order are some of the best around you'll definitely want to save some room for those! 10/10. Will be back and recommend.

Stopped in on the way from Myrtle Beach to Raleigh. Great food - and a really great welcome!
The location might not look much, in the car park of the supermarket, but step inside and it has a cosy homely feel. I was greeted by just about every member of staff as I made my way in, and made to feel very welcome. I even got to add my name to the wall map of visitors!
The food was tasty and plentiful. I tried the Boston Butt with sides, and was offered one of their ribs to try too since I’d been forced to choose between them.
My only regret was not being hungry enough to try out the home made cook to order donuts, which looked really good!
Now I just need to wait for them to expand and open a branch in Europe.response / report this review -

Visited this restaurant with my husband. He got the half chicken and I got the ribs. Very tasty! Everything is homemade from scratch, fresh daily. The food is great but what makes the restaurant is the friendly service. Everyone talks to you and makes you feel welcome. I would definitely recommend this hidden gem.

Wonderful food! We had the chicken, ribs, okra, baked beans, sweat potato fries and lets not forget the soft delicious homemade doughnut. But the best attribute of this restaurant is not the food but the people who run it! These people are so wonderfully warm welcoming. I would recommend this place to any and everyone. I forgot to mention that its all home made.

My husband and I have eaten at MeMa's several times, and we've always enjoyed the excellent food, welcoming atmosphere, and the spotless cleanliness. I haven't tried one of the doughnuts yetI'm scared to get started on those!! The sweet potato fries are really good! We always leave way too full! Really nice people and good food in a clean, relaxing atmospheremy kind of place!

First off, service was great. I did manage to get in just before the lunch rush hit around 12 pm, so I'm sure that helped. Staff was brimming with the type of southern charm and hospitality you see in movies. My order was taken quickly at the counter, and dispatched in about 10 minutes.
I ordered the pulled pork plate, and opted for seasoned fries and coleslaw (can't have pulled pork without coleslaw) as my 2 included sides.
The pork was great - tender, juicy, and had a nice smoky flavor. Tasted like it may have already had a little vinegar based BBQ sauce - though I didn't see any extra sauce on any of the nearby tables for those who may want a little more.
The coleslaw was fantastic, small pieces of apple offer a little sweet crisp flavor that perfectly contrasted with richness of the pork.
The fries could've been better. To me, it seemed like they hadn't been cooked long enough, or maybe the oil wasn't quite hot enough - and contrary to the images drawn in my head when I read "seasoned fries" on the menu, they were relatively free of seasoning. Clearly salted, but no visible evidence of much else.
Possibly my favorite part of the meal wasn't even mentioned on the menu - the hush puppies. These were exceptional. Crispy outside, almost muffin like crumbly on the inside, with big pieces of corn throughout, and seasoned to perfection.
Update: I've kept going back, and they've kept being amazing. They even updated the fries, and they're fantastic as well now - they're now larger wedge style fries, fried very well, crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. They're also seasoned well now salt n' pepper, mmmmm.response / report this review -

True down home southern cooking with a homey atmosphere real friendly and the food quality and quantity for the price is very reasonable. And the Crab Boil is definitely off this chain. 👍👍👍👍😋

Awesome service as soon as I walked through the doors. Now, as far as the food. The chicken came completely off the bone and those ribs. Anytime you can eat a rib and the gristle is as tender as the meat, WOW!! And I absolutely loved the sauce. #AWESOME

This is the best southern food you can get in the city of burgaw. Family friendly and I love the atmosphere. Can't beat it 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾. Home cooking away from home 😊

This place is amazing! I love their fried okra and mushrooms! They have Great hospitality, while providing a nice and extremely clean atmosphere. I love their interaction with customers, they truly ensure you get the best experience possible. I'm so glad Burgaw finally got some good SOUTHERN Style food!!!! Thank you Memas.
