MDE has been a pleasure! The whole team was really invested in getting us to the closing table and worked with us to insure we were on track. I reached James as per a referral . Mr James Mason introduce himself as bank owner and promises for best rate , discount on closing costs and also on closing date. He listens to what we need and our financials and commits for rate , minimal amount for loan origination costs. We signed the loan application for the committed terms and locked the rate , but the pain starts now. when we asked for appraisal , they mentioned that is already ordered but 2 weeks later they realized it was not ordered. One day they say appraisal is not needed and next day they say it is required and it will be ordered a week before agreed closing.
I have to do multiple calls , texts for updates on process. For my mortgage the rate changed , loan cost increased as we move near to the closing date. Yes my family second income removed from the loan due to various reasons but even after providing requested docs by James to offset second income , they were never considered or ignored. There is no proper attention to client and his situation. His team is not on same page and we need to share information to his associates.
He never delivered what he committed or agreed during the loan application. I have done 5 to 6 mortgages with different lenders , but this is the worst experience i ever had. They ask for 100 different documents which are not even needed or cared by other lenders , suck your time , energy and cost your more for higher rates. For example , i was asked terms and conditions for a stock account to withdraw a balance? ( seriously? )
He immediately ( after a week of closing ) sold my loan to a different lender ( which is his business) but that is after charging hefty loan cost for the mortgage. No one involved in the closing ( my realtor team , attorney , title team) had good experience working with this MDE team.
I would never recommend him for any homebuyer , you have lot of other options for example gnj loans (NJ) which are way better . I have done big mistake going to MDE with a referral.

We had a very good experience with the MDE loans for our first home purchase. All our loan processing and getting things done for final closing takes little bit longer and going through a bit difficult process. It’s due to some other exceptional causes. At the time of hardest process for our home closing MDE did a tremendous job all staff members did a very good job. Appreciate sincere thanks and gratitude to James, Danielle, Hector, joseph Cherian and all staff member.

Using MDE Home Loans was the best decision I made in the home buying process. As a first time home buyer, I had a great experience.
