Very disappointed furniture company. The worse I ever seen is the one located in Coralville. Please be careful ! They seem likely nice when you want to buy but very unprofessional and rude when you have a problem with their furnitures. Their insurance is just a game and very misleading land. if what to replace is a small thing, yes but when you have to replace, you will suffer. I will never buy with them. Secretly I wish them to close and leave the city for serious companies to flow and to grow.
If it is posiible, I will give them ZERO STAR.
Excellent customer service! The manager Karen is truly wonderful.
They would match the price with other stores plus they have good quality items with fair price
The sales associates were fine, helpful enough. Everything was fairly expensive, but we had no problem getting the furniture ordered.
We set up delivery for 9/5. They called the previous week to say they hadn't realized that was the day after Labor Day and needed to reschedule. Not a big deal, these things happen. Set up delivery for the following Friday and requested an afternoon time as I wasn't available earlier because of class. They told me that was no problem, called the Thursday before and said the delivery would be between 2:30-4:30p. I agreed as I got out of class at 2:20p giving me just enough time to get to the house on time. Get a call around 1:30p saying the delivery guys would be there in about 15-20 minutes. I had to step out of class to call and say that wouldn't work and I hadn't asked anyone to be available because I thought the delivery would be in the 2 hour window they gave me. She put me on hold about 5 minutes and came back saying if I couldn't be there in now 5-10 minutes, they'd reschedule. I told her I couldn't and she rescheduled and they were unable to give me any sort of time estimate for the following Tuesday. They called Monday to tell me the delivery estimate was 12p-2p. Luckily I made sure I was available for the full day because this time they called at 9:30a saying they'd be there in about 20-30 minutes. A full 2.5 hours early. I had to miss a meeting to be there, however, we got the furniture delivered at least.
It took months to get McGregors to replace my sofa and when they did they didn't ALLOW any guarantee. It took 2 months to see why. Lucky I bought insurance they replaced the coffee table and fixed the side table. Last night the stretcher bars broke. I saved my other coffee table I got 14years ago somewhere else. But very poor customer service. The people were only nice before I forked over thousands for 3 prices of furniture.
I've actually never been here either- but apparently the majority of these reviews are from people who haven't even been here. You're all a bunch of idiots. It's incredible that some of you think your opinions are so valuable that you can review a place you have never been to. Honestly, if you cane into a store that I worked at- I would give you terrible service too. Keep your worthless opinions and comments to yourselves.
I bought a suede sectional, 5 drawer dresser, night stand, and mattress back in 2011 from this location. All survived college and graduate school without any problem. The couch is only now starting to have one extra soft cushion that squeaks every now and again, but this has also been the most frequently used cushion. I believe we paid about $800 for the sectional, and it's been a wonderful investment.
Was planning on looking here, have bought things there before and never had a problem. Sounds like it has gone downhill, so I'll just pass this one buy someone better wise up or this store will be out of business
Buyer beware. Very poor customer service. Selling low quality furniture but telling customers otherwise. More concerned with the initial sale and once they get your money, they don't care about you anymore. Very disappointed.
McGregror's had a great selection of furniture. We were looking for a new living room set and found several pieces that we loved. We were happy to be greeted as soon as we walked in the doors. After that point our visit went down hill
Fran was our sales woman and she was awful. She completely ruined our experience here. She did not seem to know anything about the furniture and was incredibly rude and snobby. This was the first store we visited to begin shopping for our new furniture. When we told her that we were going to look at a few other places before we buy anything she was very upset and mean to us about it. Because of her we will definitely not be buying our furniture set from McGregor's and we will have to keep looking. Very Disappointed.
The sales lady named Jennifer is top notch. She is so helpful and I can tell she is in demand. When I paid for my mattress in the back, I told them I needed a before 4 pm delivery. They just called to say they could bring the mattress between 4 and 6. When I said that wouldn't work, they suggested I leave my door unlocked (um no). The lady on the phone said that "They didn't read minds, and how would they know I needed it before 4." I explained to her that I told them when I paid. Thank Goodness this happened before I bought living room furniture and kitchen chairs. I will go elsewhere.
I've never actually been here. But my goodness all of these bad reviews. The fact that the same story keeps popping up and it looks like they aren't doing anything to resolve the disputes makes me never want to go. These businesses need to recognize that customer reviews matter. Be better.
