The lunch food was not good. I got the Havana Waffle sandwich. The waffle was soggy, but the waffle fries were pretty good. I also ordered a mocha. It was nothing remarkable - L.A. Burdick is MUCH better. Then we got fondue for the table. It wasn't that flavorful. And actually the tap water was gross - luke warm, and it just didn't taste good. That was a turnoff from the start. The atmosphere is more like a fast food restaurant - about on the level of Red Robin. And the service was not very good.

Staff seems to lack training. Some of the food is good. A lot of it is inedible. Really has gone downhill in the past few years :( used to be amazing!

Absolutely terrible service. Went to order and waiter walked away after only getting two of three orders. Cashier rung up three drinks and we explained that we didn’t even finish ordering. Mac Brenner is known for their unique mugs/glasses for each drink and they served ours in to-go cups. Felt like we were being pushed out of the restaurant. Didn’t even make our drinks as described on the menu.
For $7 each, and very small 8 ounce cups, I would expect the drinks at least be made correctly.

What can be more delightful than Brenner burger at this time of the day, full of calories and enjoyment?! This taste will keep boosted to the next time you hit Max Brenner.

Everything chocolate.
I had a Philly cheesestake sandwich in a waffle.
My friend had hat chocolate in a cup that was too hot, without handles, and that spilled a bunch she held with napkins. :-/

I always check google for reviews of a restaurant, but I have never written one. My experience at Max Brenner was SO BAD that it made me realize I had to finally write one, so I could spare the rest of the world of the mistake I made by going to this odious and sickening hole.
To start off, it was my own fault. I have been to Max Brenner once before and had a horrible experience, but for some delusional reason, I along with my friends gave it a second chance. The first time I went to Max Brenner I arrived without a reservation. The hostesses were very rude for some reason regarding the fact I didn’t have a reservation, making it very clear to me they were shocked I chose to go to their beloved Max Brenner without a reservation, but I decided to just let it go. They sat us and I figured everything was great. Then IT started. Not IT from Stephen King’s novel (in this case I wish it was) but no, I’m regarding IT being the service of this unscrupulous restaurant. We sat at our table for 15 minutes without any service. No one even came over to take our drink orders. We finally decided to ask one of the waiters and they said someone would be over shortly. Another 15 minutes went by, still nobody came over. We decided to ask one more time, and they said “sorry, a waiter will be over”. And yes, we still decided to wait another 10 minutes and no one came over. We waited 40 minutes at the table just waiting to order. We walked out and no one in the restaurant said a thing.
Like I mentioned, I am pretty stupid to return to this place. Why would I ever think about giving money to a business like this? But for some reason, I returned last night. This time I figured things would be different. I made a reservation this time around. They made it so clear the last time I was at Max Brenner that a reservation was necessary if you didn’t want to be treated below everyone else. I made this reservation a week in advance for 9pm. I arrived at Max Brenner at 850, and did not get seated until 950. I waited with my group 50 minutes for a table, even though I had a reservation at 9. The thing is I wasn’t even angry at them. I was angry at myself for believing in humanity, thinking my faith could be restored in this hole. I am shocked and completely disappointed in myself for thinking this restaurant could do ONE easy thing right - a RESERVATION. Then again, I don’t work at a restaurant so maybe reservations are hard to manage? It has come to the point where I think I will return for a third time to Max Brenner just so I can see the circus one more time. So even though I left it with one star, I will be recommending Max Brenner to others. It is truly a dining experience for the ages and one you will not forget.
By the way, the reason I keep saying Max Brenner in my post is because i want it to cement in your mind how distasteful this horrible place is, and to make sure you never plunge in the filth like I did. Unless of course, you enjoy the circus!
P.S. the desserts are average - maybe somewhere between what you’d get at Friendly’s or Sonic. Oh, and be prepared to spend $8 on a milkshake. Good luck!response / report this review -

The food is good. The biggest perk of this place is their hot chocolate selection, which can be either non-alcoholic or alcoholic. The options seem endless. Excellent destination for chocolate lovers.

Cozy breakfast joint - not just chocolate affairs, either. You can get traditional fare and fare just as well!

The food was good. The chicken cheese steak waffle (with cocoa dusted waffle fries) was good but nothing too special. The waffle itself was thin and could have been a little thicker or crispier to give the sandwich more structure and make it easier to pick up. The waffle fries dusted with cocoa were a fun novelty, but tasted pretty normal. The make your own sundae included good chocolate drops and milk chocolate, as well as whipped cream, a waffle cone, and sprinkles, but it was a little too sweet for my taste and not necessarily worth $10. Overall, the service was great and it's a fun place to try with friends and family, but not everything is worth the price on the menu. Still, I might just come back to try some of their other desserts.

Stopped in for lunch today and we were quickly seated. Unfortunately after 15-20 minutes nobody attended our table and the service staff just ignored us while serving tables around us. The hostess at the front was briefly apologetic as we walked out but did nothing to retain our business. We won't be going back.

Only good person during our experience was the hostess. Overheard our waiter say "well why are they here" talking about us moving from the bar to a table which we were on the waist for. Took forever to bring the tea contraption over from the bar and were clearly annoyed. Sat for about 15 min with 1 menu until our waiter came by and gave another one. The clam chowder was actually good but the California burger was mediocre at best. Definitely not worth the price cheese wasn't melted all the way and couldn't taste any of the flavors on the menu. Desert was also disappointing, do not get the tiramisu get one of the fondue or something. Overall I would never come back again nor would I recommend this place to anyone.

Slow and bad service. Tables are crammed together. I had the swiss chocolate, served in a thin glass, made with powder rather than real chocolate. Major disappointment.

Food was great and there's a ton of menu items to choose from. Service was pretty poor however. Multiple times the servers forgot about our orders and then wondered why we were still just sitting there. If the servers were more attentive, I'm sure our visit would have been much more enjoyable.

Went in Sunday afternoon with my family and friends, total of 11 all together for some hot chocolate and the Banana Waffles, had to order to go from the bar because we had kids with us and hostess says we have to wait for a table for at least 3 hours!!! but the restaurant had plenty open tables which could easily accommodate all of us. Service and hospitality has been better than this. Very disappointed!
