I love coming to this part of Pittsburgh. In the summer there's great outdoor seating, and in the winter there is a pretty cool Christmas market here. Lots of food options (I highly recommend The Simple Greek for delicious, quick food, and Prantl's for great pastries), and it's a good place to sit and chat with a friend. Finding parking can be a bit of a challenge, especially on a weekend, but there's a parking garage nearby if you're willing to spend the money on that.
One of the many gems of Pittsburgh. Hot coffee or sushi. Excellent fish sandwich or the classic Primanti's. Constant festivals and live performances. Breakfast lunch or dinner, I would visit this place seven days a week anytime of year.
We had so much fun. Lots of places to eat, great restaurants everywhere. We enjoyed looking around at all the little shops in the area. The whole family had a great time. Would highly recommend.
The Holiday Market at Market Square is gorgeous. Lots of great vendors. The Pittsburgh Food Bank is partnered with the Downtown Partnership to raise money via photos with Santa at the Santa House. Incredible light show to music involving buildings around the square including PPG Place. Goes on until Dec. 23.
One of the best happening spots in Downtown, especially during holidays. The tallest Christmas tree in town is in the middle of the ice rink. Lots of people. It feels like a scene from the movie when you get there during holidays. Lots of restaurants and quick food options around. And the night market has unique collection of items. It’s fun to stroll around and find nice gifts. Very good friends & family gathering spot in the center of downtown.
Love market square! Always something different going on, great for lunch and day in the city. Good restaurants and local bars around and close by to everything. Within walking distance to the north shore!
Such a cool area of town! Great selection of places to eat or get a drink. A definitive local treasure spot that seems to always have something going on. Oh and they have games, checkers, chess, ping pong, etc open to play! A must when visiting.
Beautiful square, surrounded by restaurants and cafes. Gets quiet busy during lunch time. Farmers markets and festivals are great here. Bustling little hub. Many chain restaurants here but primanti Bros was worth a visit
Square seems nice. Visited on a weekday evening and again the next day for lunch. Primanti Bros was amazing and The Yard was great too. Next trip NOLA is on my list.
Love the giant chess set and the ping pong tables - also love the food court/patio tables. Also there seems to be constant police presence which is nice.
If you're nearby and hungry for a bite to eat, THIS is the location to get to! We enjoyed lunch at Five Guys during our latest visit to Pittsburgh and didn't regret it! Beautiful location with LOTS going on and opportunities for casual dining inside or outside. Highly recommended.
lovely place for fun and food, on every Wednesday you will have fun games and Thursday you will market.
Love this place. It's very nice place to walk around.
Everything you can think of in one square. Walking distance across the bridge from PNC Park. Take the T from south side and you're right around the block from it. Market Square diversifies all the foods you could possibly think of eating and sticks them nicely around a corner, that you swear is right out of a Harry Potter movie.
This is by far the most versatile place in Pittsburgh. All types of events takes place in this place. Be it a car show or cycle rally or small music event, everyone comes here. Home to many good restaurants and if you happen to be in downtown for a visit or fun, don't miss go here on any of the summer evenings.
A good place to take a walk. Enjoy watching the skating rink too. The stalls are atleast 4 times the cost, but it's worth walking around
