Had a nice first camping experience with the kids. Super easy to reach from the 101. It had a rained recently so there were nice grassy fields rather than dried-out brown everywhere. Kids got to see some deer and a heron-type bird, and throw rocks in a flowing stream. Tons of ground squirrels in an underground city on the campsite. Facilities were reasonable, though pricey for what it is. At night you can still hear cars on the mountain road (not super busy) and you're not far enough away from light pollution to make out many more stars than from a suburb.

Great spot. Short little hike to a water and diving spot. Be careful for the rocks when walking but otherwise it is beautiful. You can even set a campfire. Just be careful. Picnic is great here and many trails as well. Saw a coyote last time we went.

We did the hike to the MASH filming site. Beautiful day and lovely hike. Not overly challenging but just enough exertion so one knows one has hiked. MASH site is well marked with explanatory signs and interesting information. Also great photo opportunities. We saw three hawks soaring above - so beautiful! Interesting vegetation! Highly enjoyable!

An awesome place to get away. We went a week after it rained heavily and everything was green and lush. Bring water and be ready to explore every small trail and enjoy the multiple trails. Lots of benches to take a break and enjoy a snack or lunch.

Went here to rock climb in late August and had a great day out. The park is pretty big with great hiking and mountain biking trails. Moreover it was quite beautiful, and worth a drive up from LA. A lot of people come here for the swimming hole which, at least this time of year, looked pretty disgusting to me because the water was stagnant, and only filled the hole itself. Though I definitely would not have gone in, large groups were there jumping in from pretty high heights. probably fun if the water quality is better. Either way it was a great trip and the rock climbing is pretty fun and clear on mountain project.

Really nice place. Loads of walking trails criss-crossing all over the place. Love the variety, but would like to have seen a bit more clarity in the signing.

Amazing spots for photoshoot! But don't go there when the weather is hot.. there's barely a shade. You gotta walk more than 20mins to get the perfect spots.

Great hiking trails and views. Many lovely picturesque areas. Rock climbing spots and even a small natural pool, though it didn't seem clean enough for prolonged swimming. Camp site features bathrooms and showers as well as access to fresh water. Lots of poison oak in the area so stick to the marked trails!

Incredible 14ish mile loop that includes views of the valley, San Gabriel mountains, Pacific Ocean, and the M.A.S.H. film site. Well maintained trails with a variety of inclines. Park at the bottom has lots of amenities. Use alternative map for trails - those posted are hard to read.

Went rock climbing here. There is sufficient parking. The rock here is really really nice. There are a ton of jugs and buckets and the holds are generally nice to touch. Beware of poison ivy though!

Really beautiful place. You can hike to the shooting sets of MAASH, the TV show. You can also go the fall and water creek on the other side. Good place to have picnics too. Parking is pretty good and entry is $12, you can also camp overnight.

It was too hot today. 😉 A great set of hikes. The storms have created some challenges that they have not had the opportunity to address. The signage could be better as well, but that is really the state's fault and not the Park's.

Great place to explore. The park has a rich history, with majestic views of the mountains. To top it all off it's fresh water creek makes a refreshing stop on a hike.

Parking price is ridiculous. Also, my friend had been carrying her four year old son on her back for two hours and we went to the visitor's center to buy a water, but they only take cash and the woman told my friend to get some water for her son from the water hose outside. The only reason it gets two stars is because the nature part of it is beautiful. The part that human beings have nothing to do with is beautiful. The rock water hole and the hiking trails are all wonderful. But the aspects that humans can control are not so great. These aspects reflect the exact opposite of what nature does. It is a shame that humans can ruin this kind of experience.
