My father (94 yrs old) and I took Copper Bowl Forming. We each learned details about various tools and formed our own copper bowl start to finish! The instructor was exceptional in his presentation and instruction. We loved our experience. There were a couple more advanced students in the class and he let them operate on their level. He balanced the short 3 hours well and empowered us all to achieve a bowl we are proud of!

I would avoid this place if you can. These guys don't understand how reservations work.

I paid for a class (approximately two to three weeks ahead of time) and drove from Los Angeles for it – just for this class with MakerPlace. They cancelled the class at the last minute because I was the only student. These folks say they have the right to cancel any class.

Since I was the only student, couldn't you have called me? Basic courtesy!

Also people don't read the fine print. You can hide it in your dumb policy note somewhere. I hope you realize people don't read fine prints.

I am so terribly disappointed. Three hours of traffic for this attitude + a wasted hotel night. Simply awful.

Fantastic DIY workshop, all the tools for wood and metal work. It also has lasers and 3D printers. I've learnt allot from taking the classes that they offer. If you have a personal project, great place to start and the staff have always been super friendly and always willing to help! I would recommend this place to anyone.

MakerPlace was originally billed as "Your Place to Make it!" when I joined in 2014 to get more shop time for my woodworking hobby than I got from adult ed classes. Within two month I turned pro and am now in my fourth year, having completed some 70 commission pieces that grace homes and churches and businesses across the U.S. and Canada. I cannot say enough good things about the MakerPlace, where I indeed have "Made it," becoming a respected furniture maker who has a whole new life I love; Antikea! my furniture studio. A "subscription" fabrication shop for business and hobbyists. With a subscription and, for more sophisticated equipment, easily obtained certifications, one can use their equipment. Some of the equipment: 3D printers, metal lathes, end-mills, Bridgeport manual and CNC. Flat-bed CNC laser cutter, routers. CNC embroiderers, An electronics lab, and much more. The Maker Place is a hobbyist's dream. A number of businesses also have subscriptions. Tours easily available. Cutting tools, consumables, and supplies are extra. Popular equipment can have a waiting time of a week. Locating the MakerPlace can be a bit of a challenge. From W. Moreana Blvd, turn southwest onto Buenos Ave, an immediate left onto Cudahy Pl. Immediate left into the first driveway. Either park here, or if you are feeling lucky, drive all the way back, keeping to the left of the building.
