Fair prices and good service

I've went to this place off and on for 10+ years now, for the most part it is great. They have low prices (for a shop) and you dont need an appointment (that counts a lot for me) and generally get it done while you wait. I've had exhaust, brake, coolant system, and electrical work done here, all was done timely and fairly. They have a mix of old techs and young techs which i think balances them out quite well. Only complaint was in 2009 i had a multitude of work done on an impala and one of the jobs (i think it was electrical, cant remember) was not done properly and they refused to refund that portion of the bill. Other than that one hiccup, good shop.

They replaced our catalytic converter for a couple hundred dollars. Had us in and out in about 2 hours. Great service and reasonable price.

Assholes tried charging me 2 grand to fix a part on my suspension and it wasnt even the problem and then I took it to another shop and it was not even 100 $ they are true scammers.

I can't warn you enough to stay away from this place. The last straw for me was having my exhaust modified and paying $70 just to find out it was installed incorrectly. Check your exhaust if it's been done by them. If it's rock solid and doesn't move that's bad. The exhaust has to move a little to absorb the shake of the motor. Anyways I had to drive to Valparaiso to get it fixed. I should mention I had brought it back to Main to have my concerns addressed and was asked for a receipt and told "don't worry we'll take care of it" (only 3 days had passed) and after looking at their hob job I was informed it could be fixed for another $70. Stayno run away. Apex and Main same owners BTW.

Main muffler and Apex are truly scammers and they promise u a time it will be done and it's not then they have a sign on the wall that say we just estimate no guarantee it plus Pette is a smart butt and talks to u like your a idiot and comes up with prices off the top of his head and two people can go in there with the same car and problem but u will get two different prices he takes advantage of people when there in a bad situation plus if u don't print out your coupon and tell them before your estimate then they won't honor it they do that so they can jack the price up so it looks like u got a deal and they also tell u this will fix it then when it doesn't get fix they say u had more problems that was just the easiest one to fix and my god if u don't have your pink slip they won't even look at your car even if you were there the day before THEY ARE THE WORST EVER TAKE YOUR CAR'S TO THE DEALER SHIP U WILL BE TREATED LIKE PEOPLE AND THEY WILL FIX IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME AND THEY WILL HONOR THERE WORK AND MOST OF THE TIME THERE CHEAPER AND US QUALITY PART'S

I and my family have been having cars repaired at Main for upwards of 15 years. They have always provided quality work with the fastest possible service at the best possible price, and are always pleasant and friendly. I am VERY thankful for Main!
