It's a very nice facility for kiddos to rummage around in, but man is it small. It's only a few floors of stuff and kids can breeze through the exhibits pretty quickly, making the admission fees seem pretty absurd. I certainly cannot recommend frequent visits here because you'll be bored out of your mind as will your kids, but every now and again it's a good option.

We were in town for the weekend and stopped by on Sunday morning. This is an great place for kids and families. My son had an amazing time exploring the museum. There are so many activities and things to see. I would highly recommend for anyone that is visiting Madison with kids.

Great option for families with children in the Madison area, complete with stroller parking and cubbies for all the stuff small children need on such an outing. There is a cafe with limited options for lunch (pizza, snack foods, etc.) and family restrooms for when the whole fam needs to go at once. We went on a Friday and it was very busy but still not too crowded. My one-month old and I had fun exploring the exhibits and we will definitely be back as he gets older and is engaging more.

Such an amazing children's museum! Lots to do, taken my kids from ages 1-6 so far and they play for hours. Love the arts and crafts area, always different projects going on for kids to explore.

My daughter loves it. Lots of activities for a large age variety. Their roof top is amazing, there is a little "farm" with chickens and baby chickens for kids to play with. The roof too also has a beautiful garden with views to the capitol. They also have special events for their members. There is a little restaurant, gift shop and stroller storage area inside. Their indoor playground is big and perfecr for the winter, when taking little ones out to play is impossible due to the temperatures, kids can always go to the children's museum to run and get their energy out while staying warm. Totally recommend this place.

Thoughtful children's museum on the capitol square. Three floors of exhibits. Dedicated area for younger children. Rooftop outdoor area and small animal activities. It's a winner.

Bring a change of clothes and shoes for younger children for recovery from the water play exhibit.

Scheduled events including sensory-sensitive times that help children on the autism spectrum enjoy the museum.

So many exciting things for children and parents alike. I wish we had more time to spend before my child needed to nap. Friendly staff, fair prices. Highly recommended! My toddler loved it but there were many activities for all ages there.

Hosted our daughters birthday party here and it was great! We got there a little early and since there wasn't anything booked for the room prior they let us set up early. I had the last minute idea to put paper on the tables for the kids to draw on and asked the staff if it would be possible. 5 minutes later staff had taped the paper to the tables, had crayons ready to go, and even put our decorations back on the table. The cake from their caterers was awesome. They even boxed up the leftovers for us. Our package included kid beverages- they had high quality apple cider! They kept our stuff behind the desk until the kids were done playing. Because you only book the party room for an hour we did cake and present first. It works out awesome doing it this way as the kids all got the chance to burn off the sugar. All in all, it was a fun and stress free day. We defiantly plan on having more parties here.

One of the best children's museums in the country- I have been to many. The museum is full of incredibly creative and unique spaces that cater to kids. The kindergarten and younger area is nothing short of magical, the art studio is amazing, and the nature center/garden on the roof is wonderful, just to name a few of our favorite parts. We visited in winter and they had made an ice rink in the garden area, complete with crates of helmets and adjustable ice skates. I was also told they have carrier pigeons which deliver pen pal letters between the museum and local schools. The amount of caring and creativity that goes into this place make it a model children's museum.

This is a great place for educators! Bring your ID and you enter free of charge. This makes it very affordable for my husband and I to bring our daughter here to explore so many different stations. Every ago can enjoy this museum :)

They have a section dedicated to toddlers/young kids. Both of mine love it and spend hours discovering new things. The roof has a lot of plants and animals to see.

My son and I are visiting from out of town and I know we were both a bit eager to finally do some sightseeing. I brought him to this museum where we spent 4 hours! He's 12 months and very mobile, so it was very nice to have a space for such a small wee one to play without being trampled by the larger kids. The first floor has a section for 0-5 years, which is were he had the most fun. The other areas of the museum is just as interactive and accommodating for small children, but you of course, should still watch and engage in play along with them. I'm in town for 2 weeks, and we will most certainly come back. The cost is $7.95 for 12 months and up.
