Nice hiking spot. Can do short or longer loop, each offers a great view if the Bridge.

Nice place but to our surprise the dumping station is locked! The other campers are not happy about this and really surprised like we are. I know it is off season but we still paid $40 to stay and the confirmation said nothing about the dump station being closed. Will not be back.

Nice, city campground. Great place to camp if you want to be close to everything in St. Ignace / Mackinac. Most sites are pretty open and close together so if you're looking for rustic camping this wouldn't be the place.

Loved it! Nice big grassy sites. Sites right on the beach are amazing. We stopped on a Sunday night around 9:00 & made a reservation on the yellow phone with no issues. Will definitely return in the future! (Pictures are of site 82A)

I have mixed feelings about this park. I've had great experiences and some not so great. My family and I have been coming here for years (I believe maybe four or five years). Campsites are not private, but some have great views and the cramped quarters are worth it. Fire rings are well maintained as well as the bathrooms and shower facilities. Staff are okay, some are very friendly and others are not (which is the case for any business). Dogs are allowed, alcohol is allowed, and quiet time usually starts around 11pm. Prices are fair, although calling to make reservations is a better bet than using online. The website doesn't always work properly. Do your research, better safe than sorry.

You don't really expect to see Dyson hand driers in a bathroom at a campground but Straits delivers just that. I was impressed at the condition of the bathrooms and shower rooms which are not items that I generally note. The campground itself is a little cumbersome to navigate but once the layout is understood it is workable. There are several beach access point and boat launch for park guests or those that hold a rec pass. There is no limit to the number of tents on a given site but anymore than 3-4 tents and you are going to start getting uncomfortably close to neighbors. This is not a campground to go to if you are wanting to get away and be alone because during season they are quite busy. The views at certain sites are, frankly, beautiful and watching the sunset behind the bay is amazing. There is wood for sale near the park entrance and people are not encouraged to bring wood from other areas due to the spread of invasive beetle species. There are also grocery stores nearby if something is forgotten it isn't far to correct the issue.

This State Park is clean and close to all the St. Ignance / Mackinaw area has to offer. 25 minutes west on US-2 you are in the best beach area of Lake Michigan for some nice waves and sand. Across the road is Brevoort Lake and part of the North Country Trail. Kayaking in this lake is great.
The only draw backs of this state part as it is close to the I-75 bridge toll both and you can hear trucks consistently using their jake brakes. If sound bothers you, then bring a fan or run your A/C unit in your camper.
Bathrooms were clean, though showers lack any shelves or enough hooks. Park was clean, no trash, needles (yes like at Metamora and Sleepy Hollow SP), or diapers in the water at the beach area.response / report this review -

Love all the great views of the Mackinac Bridge. Always a very clean park . Been here several times. This is one of my favorite state parks.
