Great food. Great service. Even in the busy holiday season.
This is not normal Mexican food. The only food on the menu that I was comfortable eating was the Tacos and even those had some weird ingredients. Only go here if you are looking for upscale, different, possibly untraditional Mexican food. Expensive for food I didn't like. Good margaritas though.
Great atmosphere. Friendly and welcoming. Our host made sure our vegan options were delivered. Waitress was very nice - friendly and professional. Food was excellent. A great place for drinks and meals especially on the patio.
Stopped in for a quick bite and drinks at lunch (so, not crowded). Food was good (tamales) to great (guacamole - very fresh, tomatillo salsa). Service and atmosphere were great.
Upscale Mexican. Nice place but a little too loud for me. If you don't mind the noise, the food is very good.
I really liked this place but a couple of things stopped it from being 5 stars. First was the gluten free menu items like guacamole that would come with shared fryer tortilla chips or an extra charge for unfried tortillas. Also was that the happy hour specials we're only aviable on the first floor. Which was silly. Other than that the food was great, the place was pretty cool and we had a great time here.
The location was great, close to the White House. We used Open Table to book reservations. The seating wad really BAD, they pack you in like sardines. It was distracting to be so close to other tables and you could hardly have a conversation or avoid the neighboring tables conversations. The food was good, great prices too.
I would come back, but sit at the bar or ask for a table against the wall. The service and atmosphere were great. Great sangria:)
Great food. Excellent service. Hernon is awesome!
Nice establishment near the White House in downtown Washington, DC. We both ordered off the specials for the day, and I enjoyed an awesome enchilada. Like most places in DC, drinks and food were pricey but not terrible. Can't complain when the food was well done and we were seated immediately. Would visit again.
Ambiance and drinks were nice, but ultimately the food dragged this one down. Incredibly bland, barely average. Many better options in DC.
Romantic spot; good food and service. I ordered the chicken entree and the seasoning and sauces melted into an amazing experience for the taste buds. We made reservations ahead of time, though it looked like you could drop in as well.
Get the Piella! Find someone to split it with you since it is a dish served for two people but that person will thank you later. We also usually get the guacamole to start but you can see where that comes in as an afterthought in my mind. The restaurant is loud - they could do with a few soft surfaces to absorb some noise but it is aesthetically pleasing.
There are some other Latin American restaurants in DC with longer wait lists. We have tried most of them and we prefer MXDC.
The service was OK, the waiter didn't bring utensils ans napkins until we asked for it. The food took a long time and we only ordered appetizer. The food was really good and the ambience and decoration of the place is chill and dark (which I like). I recommend to go and try it yourself.
Pretty good Mexican style food. The black beans and rice were not great but the corn on the Cobb side was bomb and had a good kick to it. Drinks were good and strong. Staff was friendly and informative. I had 3 tacos and all were good very fresh food. Good atmosphere too. Wasn't the best I have had but would go back.
