Fun local spot, FRIENDLY mixed younger crowd.. I like it because it's within walking distance as well

Don't understand how a very popular place can have an owner that doesn't care about her customers. She even admitted that it was her fault for not posting about a freshly painted floor that had a small step up. My very first time there, and my last. As my friend and I went out the first side door that was on level ground then coming in thru the pool table side. All of a sudden my knees hit the floor, and my mouth hit the corner of the bar. No write up was made, no one even said go to the emergency, please get checked. Nope. Got laughed at, and the brush off.

I always leave this place smelling like smoke. Cheap drinks, and very unique vibe. Good place to meet people, but not really my scene.

We had a fun time on the back patio. Lots of games and a fire pit! Very low letter, everyone I met was super nice.

Whenever I go to Lux, I have an excellent time. Not only is there a wide range of ages and all different types of people, but everyone there is very respectful and most people know one another. I have also lost my phone there approximately 3 times and each time someone turned it in. The most recent time, three other people helped me look for the phone all night. That's the type of people that frequent this bar. I come for the dancing and stay for the atmosphere. They have a fire pit in the back and a hammock as well with several picnic tables set up. The bartenders are always on top of their game and take the time to remember your face if you begin to frequent the bar. They'll remember you and the favorite drink you always get. That's why I love this bar; it's like Cheers, but with dancing.

I like Lux for the variety of things to do on different days of the week. From fair weather B Movie Night in the backyard, to craft night, to cook your own burger night, to dance party night. Yes, on the weekends it gets an influx of bar hoppers that aren't the "normal" clientele, but it's still great to sit around the fire in the back with a drink talking.

Lux is my shizz. Best bar crowd in town, and you can (smoke) out back! Bartenders do their best but sometimes get overwhelmed and either don't take your order or get snappy with you. Going any day except for Friday or Saturday is the most enjoyable.

So hit or miss. I went with a group of friends one Friday night. When we arrived the back seating area was full and we had to wait to sit. After about 20 minutes we were able to catch a table. It's usually pretty crowned and the crowds there change frequently. However, it's a good place to go to relax, grab a drink, and have a good laugh.

Best place to go if you want to have a great time without putting in Aires. Everyone is welcome and the diversity, energy and safe and friendly atmosphere make this place a true gem.

This place is a dive and that is exactly why I like it. Cheap strong drinks, great specials and and events, and good company. I give it four stars because sometimes when they have live music they charge a $5 cover and when you can get a "pabst smear" (well shot and a pbr) for $3, the cover seems ludicrous.

Best bar in Rochester. No other place in town has the same vibe. No drama. Great drinks. Reasonably priced. Fun & unique events. Great for regulars or visitors.

A nice place to hang out at, whether you're a local or not. I love hanging out there during the summer in the late afternoon when it's not crazy busy, nice out, and play with my friend's dogs in the back (dogs are allowed).

Lux is one of my favorite bars in Rochester. It's a fun atmosphere with friendly people. They have some of the cheapest drink specials in Rochester and some of the best events. The only drawback is that sometimes it can take a while to get a drink because they're usually really busy. The outdoor seating and hammock are wonderful in the spring and summer.
