The prices are often higher here than in other stores in the area (Lowe’s, Walmart, Etc.), but it’s convenient and generally the service is very good. Friendly and helpful staff who will always help you find what you’re looking for.

This may have been the worst experience I've ever had.anywhere.ever! I waltzed around for about 40 minutes before I found some help, picking up the typicals; bird seed, sand paper, etc. I put two 18 foot pvc pieces in the cart, essentially turning my true value cart into a 1400's jousting armso I parked it right outside of rentals, where there was still no attendant. So I walked up front, stood in line for almost 20 minutes, and asked for some help at the rental desk.

We get to rentals, enter deck stain Jerry fresh outta high schoolstill confounded by man's modern workings (ie: a face razor). He lines me up with a hand sander, but tells me they don't have a walk behind trencher (I've seen it in there ya'll). Either way, let's go with the sanderphoto of and a major credit card, "sure". They DID NOT accept my MasterCard as it was not "major"enough for them, something about being issued from the bank. At any rate, I get back to my cart to find that it had been moved and EVERY item in the GD thing had been returned to the shelves. So, shopping at true valueround 2.

Louisa Hardware is very helpful and supportive. They have donated things for the High school and the owners are very friendly and always willing to help. The few times that I have had problems, they have worked with me to fix it and even made special orders to get things I needed.

This place always has what I'm looking for . I shop down there it seems about once a week. The staff know where everything is in the store and they all seem very friendly and willing to help not like going to some of the big box hardware store where you can find anyone to help.

BEWARE: Don't use the rental department at the Louisa True Value hardware store. We rented a stump grinder that we found had a broken throttle control and dull teeth. My husband had to hold the throttle at the engine with one hand and operate the grinder with the other, a dangerous and awkward position. The dull teeth barely worked to shave some sawdust off a stump. We ended up wasting a whole day and $142 grinding LESS THAN ONE STUMP. When we complained after returning the grinder we were given the cold shoulder and ZERO CONSIDERATION. Not even a $5 store credit. This was our experience with True Value Louisa rental department.

We have had nothing but bad experiences since we purchased a lawn mower here that had to be serviced after only using it 4 times. It took 3 weeks to fix and still had the same issues. The store manager is SOOOO RUDE he hung up on us. We called back our phone calls were put on hold and sent to voice mail. Needless to say if you have to drive 40 to 50 miles to get good service from a good company do so. You won't get it here!!!!!
