Unique service, atmosphere and food. Love this place!
The location is really unique, in an old pharmacy that hasn't been stripped from it's original interior. Yet, I have been coming here for years, and it's still the same menu of unfortunately pretty basic "Italian style" food. Most of the dishes are very heavy and not presented in the most creative way. Especially for the money. Wine list is really good though and the service very friendly.
Delicious Italian food. Get the truffle pasta but only in the winter, in the summer they seemed to not have the good truffles in stock.
I came here with a friend for dinner. This used to be an old apothecary and all the woodwork is the same, the small little drawers and the ladders. They also kept all the items they found during the renovations under the front counter as well as the old register.
The food is northern Italian and I had the gnocchi with mussels, my friend had the duck. I would recommend both, I think I liked the duck more, but it really just depends on the mood you are in. They make good recommendations for the wine as well.
The service was really good, they were not constantly hovering but made sure wine and water glasses were filled. The manager Rocco came over and spoke to us as well, friendly person, and very involved in the restaurant activities.
It's good for a date night but make reservations. Also the sign on the top is the old drug store sign so don't get thrown by that.
Food spectacular ,people soon nice atmosphere awesome I love it
This place gets a lot of hype, but it feels misplaced. Have been twice, both times the food was a little disappointing given the price (relative to the less expenses Aita nearby, which I also find tastier). As well, we found the service to be a little dismissive and slow both time. While the decor is pretty cool as an old pharmacy, it is VERY tight and fairly loud.
You wont be offended going here but I think there are better options!
A neighborhood landmark. The best. Great date spot. Friendly staff. Amazing food.
Always love it here, great Italian wine list, taglierinni with truffles was the most amazing pasta dish I've had in years. Wild boar pappardelle was magnificent as well.
Great Italian spot to try a couple of dishes that are not in your everyday Italian restaurant's menu. Charming interior and architectural history. If it's a nice day out, sitting outside is great since it's on such a beautiful block.
Amazing food and service. The perfect neighborhood spot for special dinners.
Always wonderful no matter what night you dine. We try to go as much as we can living in Suffolk County!! Saturdays are wonderfulYou are not rushed by any means. If you closed your eyes you would think you were in Tuscany in a local restaurant. Chef Baldacci, Rocco, Michael and Gabriel are truly amazing.Bravo!
Lovely, homey little place. Great service. Clever winelist-on-three-bottled schtick.
The food was atypical, which once you've been to enough Italian restaurants is not something you ever expect to see again. And it was good. But it wasn't great.
That's the one problem, and a big one: THE FOOD ISN'T GREAT.
But I'd return. I liked this place quite a lot.
REALLY solid Thai food, probably better than anything I've had in East Village, anyway. The "dancing chicken" is highly highly addictive, and the tom yum soup was delicious.
The food was simply amazing. Got the burrata and the truffle pasta. To die for. The place is beautiful! True meaning of "hidden gem"
