We decided to go in after a recommendation from some co-workers when we had friends in town. There were seven of us total, and I think we all greatly enjoyed our meals. Our server, Morghan, was very nice and made herself available often.
Group favorites: the buffalo chicken dip, bread service, the Reuben sandwiches, and the calzones. We all had variations of these items and were all satisfied. We will definitely be back!response / report this review -

I feel like I used to hear about this restaurant a whole lot more in the past, but when I finally came to eat there, I was really disappointed. It was mid-day Sunday and the lunch crowd had thinned, but with three hosts there were few actual wait staff on the floor. Our server took ten minutes to visit the table, and after ordering an appetizer didn't return to take our food order until the pretzel bites came. Four bites for $7? They were tasty and thankfully it was happy hour so we got them cheaper, but hardly worth it when other places in town make their own too. Food was just okay, and I never even got a refill on my drink (just water!). Maybe it was an off day, but I doubt I'll take the trip back any time soon And honestly, I got a sandwich with avacado on it so I wonder how much food is locally sourced now.

I'm from Jackson Center, Ohio and this is the second time I've been here. The food and service was excellent! My friend with me repeated several times during the meal how good her food was also. Rachael G, what a fine waitress you were.

I recently worked with Liz to plan a bridal shower at Local Roots. We did a continental breakfast with bubbly bar, and it was absolutely great! She was easy-going, and quick to respond to any of my questions. Pricing for the event was very fair, and the banquet room was well decorated, which saved me from having to purchase many items. I would definitely recommend hosting an event at Local Roots to anyone in the future.

Recommend! Have gotten seated every time with no waiting. Very good food choices. Unusual sides. Everything fresh! I would say it is more of a beer drinker's. place. They do offer cocktails and wine. I love the look of the front "beer garden," but it is only open evenings. Well worth another visit.

We've been going to this establishment since before new ownership, so many years now. It's just a given that we'll go here anytime we are in the area (Zoo, shopping, etc).
It's a great place to visit. The patio is preferred for us & have never had any issues with service. Staff is very friendly.
At times they'll have something temporary on the menu which we'll always try. Almost always glad we did. A few weeks back, my husband tried the Rock Fish (he loves seafood & I don't). He said it was awful & was surprised to have something that bad there. Don't let that influence you too much b/c like I said, we're almost always happy with the food there.response / report this review -

Absolutely amazing gluten free options. Found them via the Find Me Gluten Free App and were able to snag a table. Glad we came as the service was great and the food perfect.
The kids had the gluten free pizza and loved it, I had the gluten free lobster Mac and Cheese and was never happier. A must visit.

Have had a couple of really excellent meals here and also appreciate the feel of the place. They have a great patio and outside bar area. Their beer and wine selection are both excellent as well.

Great place which serves locally sourced ingredients in well executed dishes. Everything we have had here is wonderful and in the summer the outside seating area is wonderful.

This place has an amazing atmosphere and the food to back it. Great selection of draft and bottled beer. They use local grown food in their menu. Give their pizza a try. The Carnivore Bliss is my favorite. Live music on the patio is a bonus on the weekends.

The food here is delicious and the beer selection is very good. But really we come because it's a great place to bring kids. Kids get a metal lunchbox of toys to play with during their meal and the appetizers and kid's menu are awesome. The lamb pops make a great meal for a little one and that makes the beer taste all the better for the adults.

We discovered this restaurant when we noticed how busy they always are. We figured all of these people can't be wrong. There was a bit of wait but they encourage people to call ahead to get on the list. When we did get seated we found it was well worth the wait. The butternut squash soup was amazing. The salmon was melt in your mouth perfect. The bison burger tasted like it came right off the backyard grill. All of the ingredients are locally sourced, extremely fresh and we'll prepared. We finished the meal with the warm chocolate chip cookie and ice cream. It was definitely one of the best cookies I've ever had: perfectly underbaked. The staff were all extremely friendly and very patient with the constant barrage of people checking on the status of their table. Bottom line: call ahead but don't miss this place. P.s. they have live music on the patio in the summer.
