The apartments are very small, and the rent is $1100 which is completely worthless. I can hear all the noise from my upstairs neighbors, even if they walk or take shower, do laundry. It is like I am spying on them unintentionally. After a thousand complaints that I made about the toilet flush that doesn't work properly, and the smelly dishwasher and kitchen sink, the office staff didn't do anything about it. Recently, I had an issue of the toilet overflowing, where the Emergency Maintenance answered my call after 35 mins, and the whole living room, and bedroom were overflowing with water. It has been a week dealing with the leasing office nonsense. To top it off the Property Manager- Robin is very rude and unprofessional and not even a little considerate about residents' problems. They are letting me suffer since a week without even apologizing for the issue.
I would suggest to not move into this apartment complex unless you have no other option which was my situation when I moved.

WONDERFUL place to live! I have been waiting to write this review until after we have been here a little while. We have lived at the Legacy for six months now. I can say that it is fantastic. Everything is very well maintained. The pool is awesome. Maintenance is super quick to respond to any requests and they do a great job and are friendly. The office staff has always been very professional including our leasing consultant Rebecca. Location is great - off the beaten path, but close to everything including the mall! Plenty of walking paths and the kids park is very nice. We just love it! Great for kids. And to speak of the noise problems mentioned in other reviews - it really depends who lives above you. We have had quiet neighbors and currently have some noisy ones. We hear no noise from the side or below us - only above. So if noise is a real concern for you I would just make sure you get 3rd floor and then it should not be an issue. Highly recommend the Legacy!!

Amazing place, would be even better if they had recycling bins at the mail center. Trash everywhere. Not very environmentally friendly or aesthetically pleasing.

The buildings have a terrible noise problem. Despite paying 1000+ dollars a month, the noises from above, below and all around me are amplified!

I can hear my neighbors constantly walking around their apartments, getting in and out of the bed/shower, vacuuming, and opening/closing things in their kitchen. I hear my neighbors baby crying and dogs barking EVERY morning. Ive never stayed anywhere where the noise was this bad. With the price tag on this place, I don't want to hear the birds chirping outside. Seriously its terrible. It is currently 11:24pm on a Sunday (I have to be up at 6:00am for work) and it sounds like my neighbor is running a marathon upstairs. -_-

I would not recommend this place. Patiently waiting for my lease to be up.

The apartments and location is nice, however, the buildings have a noise problem unfortunately. Despite the high rental price of this complex, it suffers from structural problems that causes noises from above you to be magnified to a ridiculous extent.

I can hear my neighbors constantly walking around their apartments and them opening/closing things in their kitchen. Heck, I can hear them walking up the stairs very loudly as well. I never had this problem before in places that was half the price of this complex. If this place was slightly cheaper, I could deal with the noise but given the hefty price tag I am paying each month, I think a renter here is entitled to some peace and quiet.

I would not recommend this place unless you're rich and don't mind hearing footsteps everyday.

Edit: Definitely would not recommend living here. After living here 8 months with on time rental payments, I was 2 days behind on my last payment which lead to them threatening to evict me if payment was not posted immediately. Wow, two days behind on payment! I can't imagine if I was a week behind. That is not how you make people feel at home. Your money is better spent in another place.

HORRIBLE! My wife and I applied to the apartment based on the "great" reviews online. We both have 700+ credit score, income requirements and stellar background checks. After paying my wife's background came back inaccurate. We spoke with our leasing agent Valencia who assured us that she would override this issue and get us into our apartment before September. After a few days of no word my wife emailed and called several times to no avail. Finally at the end of the week my wife got ahold of a clerk who grabbed an assistant manager who again assured her that she would walk Valencia through the steps the next day and we would be signing our lease at the end of the week. We never heard from Legacy again until we disputed the charges with our credit card company. Nearly 2 months later Ft. Clarke FINALLY approved our application only to negate our claims of fraud. A manager even called my wife last week to 1) ask why we hadn't moved in yet ( we didn't sign a lease) and 2) apologize and refund our charges because the apartment we secured was now off the market. Its been over a month and Legacy @ Ft. Clarke is still fighting the credit card dispute with zero intention on refunding the fees collected.
Note to management: save your time commenting with a bogus # and please refund my money as you promised.

Pros: Property and landscaping is very well maintained. The pool area is really nice. There is a dog park on site (I've never had to use it but it's fenced and dogs can run and play off-leash). The gates work 75% of the time (much higher percentage than the last place we lived at). The apartments are nice. The neighbors are friendly.

Cons: Rent is very expensive. You are forced to pay an additional $20 for valet trash service and $25 for washer and dryer rental (we were not allowed to use our own washer and dryer and no one told us about this fee until we looked over our original lease and saw it). We originally had an updated 1/1 (which has no storage so just don't do it. Don't.) and that unit was immaculate. We transferred to an updated 2/2 where the craftsmanship of the update in the kitchen is mediocre at best. The backsplash has crooked tiles and grout/adhesive smeared and dried on it. We're on the 2nd floor yet we've had a persistent roach, silverfish, and spider infestation despite the exterminator treating our apartment. You're able to hear your neighbors above and below you, although less so than other apartments I've lived in. There was mold growth in our apartment from an old water leak that wasn't disclosed to us before we moved in and it took 2 months of dealing with management, maintenance, and a trip from the regional maintenance person to rectify that situation. There is STILL mold outside our door and although it has been acknowledged by all levels of the staff, nothing has been done about it. Communication from the staff is minimal to non-existent. I have been waiting for replacement blinds for 4 weeks and no one has kept in touch with us about the progress. We usually don't know when maintenance has been in our apartment because they won't alert you beforehand and they don't leave notices like they used to. People walk their dogs off leash constantly and the trash cans are left outside doors but there are no consequences. We had recurring problems with the AC units in both apartments we have lived in.

We loved Legacy when we moved here June 2015 but the service has quickly deteriorated. It's too expensive to have to deal with the problems that we (and others that have written reviews and current tenants that I talk to) have dealt with. Clearly mold is a problem so INSIST you check your unit before signing a lease and inspect everything with a fine tooth comb. That being said, my neighbors are fantastic and all of the maintenance staff are friendly and they truly go above and beyond. I unfortunately can't say the same for the front office staff or management. Although this is a better complex than a lot in Gainesville, due to the expense and the lack of efficiency and communication by those in charge, I cannot confidently recommend Legacy and will not be renewing my lease.

EDIT on 8/13/16: I originally placed the service request to fix the blinds on June 15, 2016. As of today, no one has contacted me about the blinds and they are STILL not fixed. Again, I pay too much money for this level of inefficiency and for "luxury" apartments.

Have been living here since December and it has been an absolute horror. Customer service is horrible and looking at these reviews I see I am not the only one that feels this way. I never get phone calls back, emails, nothing. When I finally do after multiple attempts people are rude and not helpful anyway. My neighbor puts his garbage out front of his door all day and night and it smells and is horrible to look at but I guess he doesn't have to follow the rules the rest of us follow. Maintenance has suddenly decided they won't come into our apt unless I crate my tiny 10 pound dog who has never hurt a fly. I wouldn't even mind crating him if they'd let me know when they were coming but they can't seem to do that. I call the office and no one ever answers I don't bother leaving messages anymore because no one ever calls me back. I was so excited to move here and it's been SO DISAPPOINTING.

Fungi and mold in everywhere but did not fix even we claimed several times to main office. Most staffs are unfriendly, bad attitude and unprofessional. Moreover, I got a new job in other state and work starting day delayed one month later after our contraction (contract due day is July but we want to move same day at August). We have to extend one month before moving. They request $1960 for a extended month. How you guys think about it? Is it reasonable price? I never recommend this place to anybody. This was hands down the worst experience I have ever had living in an apartment community.
