This hospital is wonderful! Every single person that came to see me, even the doctors, were unbelievably kind, considerate, and very sympathetic. I would recommend this hospital any time! Thank you all for taking such wonderful care! God bless you all!
Will never go there consciously again. Sign nothing. If you end up there, ask to be taken anywhere else. Arby's would be more useful.
I have spent more time then I'd like in hospitals in the last few years. I've spent time here as patient, visitor, and client to out patient PT and Urology. Overall, I've been impressed by a staff that works hard to meet the needs of patients in a timely manner, keep everyone comfortable, and generally be helpful. Sure there is the occasional busy time when you have to wait, a grumpy nurse, or some paperwork nonsense, which is why this isn't a perfect place. The scale leans far to the side of good in this hospital. Heck, check out the gift shop at least--that's top notch.
every visit has been smooth and easy with a thoughtful staff. although the billing department doesn't seem to ever answer the phone.
Avoid the ER. The nurses seem to confuse their anatomy, either by ignorance or on purpose, and then run tests for the wrong part of the body to make sure it's not ailing. As a result, your bill grows substantially. The doctors don't seem to know how to use Google, or how to correctly prescribe medication for the diagnosed condition. When I saw a specialist the next day I had to dispose of all the prescribed medication because it wouldn't work for my condition.
I was in the E.R. tonight and they got me in and out I'm new to the area and Im not used to that lol Thank You
Incredible experience in Labor & Delivery. They honored our wishes and knew how to comfort will guiding my wife to a successful delivery. OB/GYN doctors are exceptional. Every interaction with each doctor was thoughtful, empathetic and honest.
Thank you for an amazing experience. Truly a great hospital!
Depending on the department, this hospital is horrible. LMH has been a hospital that has dealt with family members of mine for years, however, I have a handful of horrible experiences that these family members have had.
Number 1: My grandpa had broken his hip and went in to get a hip replacement surgery. He is a very hardworking man and expects quality care from his providers, as would anyone else I hope. However, he said he had lousy service meaning when he needed something or someone help was a long wait away, also I work in healthcare, I understand it is hard to attend to each patient asap but 45 minute waits, are you joking? Anyways, he said his recovery process was far longer than expected and that he will never go there again.
Number 2: My grandmother, who had been diagnosed with Cancer. She was first admitted to LMH when they had found cancer in her "Lymphnodes" or so they thought. Lymphnodes are all over the body, however, they mis-diagnosed her saying she had "Lymphnode cancer" when in reality after we transferred her to Overland Park Regional for better care, we soon found out she actually had Ovarian Cancer, in which we then found out she was too far along and that Chemo and Radiation is all there was left to do. Our whole family feels as if LMH's poor services and lack of care is why my grandma's actual diagnoses was not found until we transferred her to another hospital that was worth something. She ended up passing away at age 61, sadly.
Number 3: My other grandma, she had gone to LMH in a series of emergencies. She has had issues with her heart many times and there were times where we had to call 911, well the closest hospital near her was can you guess, LMH. She was admitted, always had horrible service. Any Doctor she would see was just when in doubt put her on this medication, this medication, never just thoroughly went through with a check-up. FInally, after dealing with their constant BS we took her to Overland Park to be tested as well, and they were able to find that she needed surgery to remove a %60 blockage in her corroded artery. They were able to successfully remove most of the plaque from her artery and get her on a regulated medication process until her next surgery.
SO folks, I have many more stories I could write but that would get a little tooo much longer and more excessive. I am a die-hard non supporter of this hospital. I cannot trust them what so ever and I promise you I have given them a go many times for second chances. Please be cautious and very thorough if you do decide to choose this hospital as your go to!
Good-Luck!
Recently a bad experience at LMH South. Doctor chewed and shouted at me for 15-20 min for seeing other docs. He is the one that referred me I reminded him. Even chewed on me for even seeing his own nurse practitionerthe staff referred me so I could get in to the office quicker. He also does not even remember my name after 6 visits. After his appointment I was admitted to Stormont Vail ER for severe dehydration, vital signs diminishing, electrolytes issues, chest pain, spilling sugar into urine.
Previously in the doctor's office he did nothing but scream at meno medial interventions at all! I see the office visit was billed to Medicare for what reason? I'm 73 with disabilities including cardiac issues. I'd like to know why LMH allows this abuse to happen. I've never received a reply or answer pertaining to this issue. or my questions answered. What kind of hospital does the Administrator/ CEO want? The more questions I ask the staff becomes even more angry. This attitude is pervasive throughout the operation. Thanks for Storment Vail near byI could have died to be honest.
I reported the doctor to the Board of Medial Arts in Topeka, and I'd also like to receive a response to this complaint. This hospital needs a real good cleaning out and hire some competent staff. Your health grades are embarrassing.
Our family has had 4 visits to LMH ER in the last year. Each time we have excellent care! Three of those visits were then admitted one to ICU two were admitted to 2North. We could not have been more pleased with the care we received!
Mark Schumacher in Radiology was very reassuring and sweet to me. He looked me in the eye and smiled and said everything I was experiencing during the CT scan procedure was normal and I believed him. Thanks, Mark!
For a hospital, this place is great. All of the employees that I have interacted with have been pleasant and helpful. The finance department is very helpful in getting you income based assistance. Their online system works well for patient forms and bill pay.
I also can't complain about their complimentary flavored water in the front lobby. I get it every time I walk in for my prenatal appointments, which is becoming more regular lately!
