I would like to say, I was scared to come here because of the reviews of the extensive pricing. BUT, this place really helped me out!!! I only had x amount of money and they worked with me to get his medication and to be seen by the vet. They took care of my dog Kobe, he woke up walking and being his playful self. He didn’t look like he got hit by a car the night before. I will be forever grateful!!

I have has to use the hospital for 2 emergency situations with my dog. There is nothing worst then taking your pet into an ER vet and not knowing what is wrong. In both situations I found the staff to be supportive, understanding and extremely competent. They gave my "little boy" the care that he needed.
In addition I take him for physical therapy, because with his heart disease I want to limit any additional medications, and Sal is amazing, his genuine love for his patients is obvious when watching his interaction with them

Dr. Ira Zaslow is an amazing veterinarian! I have trusted my pets care to his team at LVS for many years. He helped to save the life of not only my pet, Sassy, but I have referred his extraordinary practice to many friends. He is a caring and loving vet, but his expertise and diagnostic ability is amazing. His team is amazing, the facility is clean and the care is exceptional.

Lauderdale Veterinary Specialists is a top-notch specialty and emergency veterinary center. I have worked with several throughout the country and I take comfort in knowing that if my dogs or cats needed care in the Miami or Fort Lauderdale area, the great team of professionals at LVS have state-of-the-art equipment and board-certified doctors who could help across a range of specialties. I would not take my dog or cat anywhere else in Fort Lauderdale or Miami.

What a joke! Actually, it's pathetic. We waited 30 minutes for a vet that probably graduated within the week. They never took the sick cats temperature, but they gave us an estimate for $3000 for the night, including everything you can think of, except, of course, for taking her temperature and giving her something to settle her stomach.
I'm talking about a 16 yo cat that vomited a few times during the day. When the same thing happened to my human child, they did blood work, took her temperature & sent us home with instructions to drink plenty of fluids. "If you don't feel better by tomorrow, come back and let's see".
This place is a serious clip joint, in the time honored tradition of the criminal AC Duct Cleaners. Not that there aren't plenty of legitimate duct cleaners, but you get my point. I'm talking about the "Clean your ducts for $99, then the price goes to $1500 as soon as the guy comes in the door.

Horrible place, if you want to be broke by all means come here. My dog was treated here and I will never return. For only 2 days stay expect to pay $4000 in bills. Also, without anything coming to me via mail or phone call I get a bill form a collectors agency of an extra $95, months later! They didn't even send me the bill themselves! When attempting to call I cannot even get a hold of their billing department with the 5 times I tried! This place is a joke. DO NOT COME HERE.

Dr. Cannon was insisting we get our dogs glands removed surgically in his neck before knowing what was wrong with him. If we had gone that route he would have died soon after. We went somewhere else and thankfully he is cancer free and looks like he is in the best shape of his life. We do not recommend this place unless you don't mind paying too much and them trying to get your dog into surgery when it doesn't even need it.

This is a teaching hospital. The veterinarians that attempt to diagnose and exam your animal are either still in school or newly graduated. There is no supervising veterinarian as required.

They won't tell you this and your dog will die. This is how they save money.

    Not a real hospital.

I don't even want to give this Veterinary one star. I recommend that no one take there animal to this location. Find anywhere else before you call them. They are just robbing you of your MONEY and you fall for it because your pet is a family member. There are camera's in all rooms, even the one that has a sofa for the bad news. As soon as I had to get a little nasty to get my pet back from them, they became very rude. My pet was very sick and they charged me double for what another hospital would have charged.
I had already taken my pet there came home and then looked this website up. I wish I would have looked at this site first before taking my animal to them

DO NOT TAKE YOUR BELOVED PET HERE!!!! They are out for your money. Brought my pet over night for emergency care and doctors were pushing for surgery without any X-rays , or anything . We took our pet home for the night and brought him back the following morning and they were all pushing for a $7,000 surgery. The second doctor even told me without the surgery he would only have less than 1% chance to live without surgery . Hysterical
I called my fiancé and we went to get a second opinion. My dog went somewhere else and we got better informed about the situation . After MRI , X-rays , and CT he didn't really need surgery after all. If I didn't look for a second opinion my baby would have gone surgery and who knows if he would have made it. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET PLEASE!!!
