  This is a great fun little park with playground equipment and a fence around the entire section to keep your little ones from wandering into the pond. Short walk to the beach as well from here.

  My grandfather, Joseph R. Arendes was a firefighter with the D.C. Fire Department, he retired as Battalion Chief. After his retirement he bought Unit 309 @ One Virginia Avenue and lived there with my grandmother Marguerite for quite a while. Anyway we would fish a little at Lake Gerar Park as kids and one time my sister and I found some little lost turtles we put them near the lake. Actually that was after my parents said no you can't take Turtles home to Bowie. A lot of fun times were had there. That was a long time ago, my birthday is Tuesday, Sept 26 and I'll be 53.!

  Great views and quiet area to get away from the bustle of the boardwalk and beach. Trees and pond made for a great backdrop for our small wedding ceremony a few years ago.

  Nice park surrounding a pond, but no shade when you sit, it can be so unbearable in the summer, just passing through is about all you can do

  Beautiful lake with paved walking path and child's playground located behind the Henlopen at the North End of the boardwalk.
