This place is slated for a 2018 renovation. I expect it to have all five of my stars then. Service (Nestor) was excellent and very personable. Breakfast included fruit and protein, not just carbs.
Breakfast was served, a fine variety, especially since it was included with the stay. Room was tidy. Small stains on the bed skirt, but nothing major. Staff was very accommodating.
Just returning to the area from a flight and booked a room so we could watch the Buckeye game, spend the night before we head two more hours to home. We have stayed at Red Roofs many times because they are pet friendly. Very disappointed, the room needs a lot of attention. The room is NOT clean, phone, heater, rug, bathroom floor filthy. Toilet bowl looks like it hadn't been cleaned in months. Wood work around door in bad shape. Heater so loud we had to turn off. If we weren't so tired we would check out. Very very disappointed in Red Roof!!
I I was stuck at the airport but absolutely nowhere to go the only room that was available was a smoking room which did not bother me even though I don't smoke I was willing to take it. That room was made available to me staff was incredibly Pleasant the breakfast was efficient freewifi. The price was totally reasonable I think that smoking rooms are usually undesirable even to smoking people also pet friendly but there's a benefit to that there's places for those people to go. Just keep in mind there is no elevator and if you're at the very end of the hall you're going to have a real workout. I was totally fascinated with this place and I'm usually an Uptown Girl but I'm totally glad that I was stuck in the airport all day.
I liked this location. Stayed two nights. The front desk staff was charming and accommodating. The hotel is older but seems well maintained. The bathroom was tiny - the toilet was super close to the wall but I think that's just the old floor plans. There are also a few restaurants within walking distance which was super convenient. Would stay here again.
AWFUL! My original room - filthy dirty, no towels nor washcloths, they were defrosting the freezer and had water all on bottom of refrigerator, the phone didn't work. They put us in another room, which was no better. Housekeeping never mopped bathroom floor, even after I made it known. Had to go down to get towels and cloths for two out of the 5 days we were there. Had to get cups, toilet paper, and tissues. Housekeeping didn't empty the trash. So we had two days worth of trash in our room. My daughter's socks were nasty because the carpets were filthy. The walls had coffee splashes, dust, on the fixturesetc. The hall had not been vacuumed and you could tell. Needless to say, WE WILL NEVER BE BACK!!!!!!
Great location. We were traveling on I-70 and this hotel is close to the highway and many restaurants in the area as well. However, it took us three tries to find an acceptable room. First one the AC did not function. Second room was water damage and had a horrible smell. Third one had the AC filters laying on the floor but that wasn't enough to make us move again. Finally, the pool was closed and that was one of the reasons I picked the hotel as I like to swim for exercise. I cannot recommend this hotel unless they get organized and get their maintenance going as one would expect.
This hotel was a huge disappointment. A dump. When we walked in the carpets were buckled, carpet & walls were stained, the air smelled like stale cigarettes/marijuana, molding & trim were missing throughout the hallways. The bathroom had hair on the floor, mold in the shower & on the walls, and was not stocked with anything but bars of soap. No microwave in the room. More than 1/2 of the electrical outlets in the room weren't working (plugs would just fall out, & not charge any device). The pool was also down, and we stayed over a holiday weekend in the summer (July 1-2, 2017), inexcusable. It was definitely not worth $115/night. The rate should have been discounted. Couldn't wait to get out of there. Unfortunately, I later found out there are other, nicer, cheaper, pet friendly hotels in the area. La Quinta was a name we trusted for quality & service, not any more. Do not stay at this hotel. Read the other 1-star reviews, they are spot-on & some recommend other, better hotels in the area.
UPDATE: Contacted La Quinta through their website with the above feedback. Very pleased with their corporate office's quick response (same day, on a Saturday) & attempts to resolve the matter. Restored my faith in the brand, even though this hotel was deplorable.
Unbelievable bad - DO NOT TAKE ROOM 106 - had the same murder scene
referenced by others - big red stain on the floor, bathroom did not flush with poop floating in the toilet. Pillow cases turned inside out instead of laundering. After complaining, a better room was given, but could not wait to check out in the morning and get on my way could not stomach the thought of eating breakfast in this place. I suggest La Quinta send a secret shopper to this hotel and poke around a little. Perhaps La Quinta in general is on the way down as a hotel chain?
I am a La Quinta Gold Rewards Member and I usually love staying at them as pets are free. Last night I arrived with my husband and was immediately greeted by a staff member who made it seem like we were inconviencing her by showing up. She refused to take cash for the room even when I gave her a card to keep on file. I had to leave the hotel at 10 PM to go find a Chase bank after 11 hours of driving because she refused my cash. Once in the room, it looked a little dirty. A HUGE stain by the side of the bed that made it looked like a bloody crime happened. Scratchy sheets and scratchy towels. The shampoos in the bathroom had obviously been used and it seemed like there was mold on the ceiling of the shower. I think I must have upset the woman at the front desk because she put us in the loudest most inconvenient room right by an extremely squeaky door that made our dog bark every time someone went through it. I am laying here in bed at 6:45 getting angrier and angrier as the noise levels rise and the doors getting slammed. Not impressed at all and will not be staying again.
Very disappointed with our experience here. The staff all we're very helpful and polite but the cleanliness of the room was unacceptable. There was a used wash cloth left on the counter, urine all over the toilet, the sofa was disgusting (stains on the arm rests, a 5x7 inch blood stain on the other side of the couch cushion), hair on the pillows and black mold in the shower. All that said, the noise level at night was even worse. Between slamming doors, people yelling in the halls and the sirens going off outside our window every hour we were lucky to get 3 hours of sleep. This is the first bad review I have given for a hotel and the first time I have called a hotels headquarters for something like this. Overall, I would never stay here again nor would I recommend this hotel to anyone else. I have stayed at La Quinta Inns for less price and have had a far better experience than the one here.
*** update - 3 April 2017 ***
I emailed the general manager for this location in regards to my experience and she was extremely apologetic and understanding of my frustrations. She offered her apology, promised to fix the issues with the room and to refund us the amount we paid for the room. I am very impressed with how the staff handled this situation.
The location is very convenient, and very close to shopping food, fast or fine dinning, and other various things that you would like to experience. The hotel is "decent", the staff has been very kind, and helpful. My room was made up nicely, the towels were very comfy, bed was comfy, but the room wasn't clean enough to my liking, some dust, smudged mirror, and used toilet paper. I couldn't close the main curtain, and one of my pillows smelled like it was used. Not a bad smell, but I could tell they didn't change the pillow case. The free breakfast is "okay", not really worth waking up early for if you're looking for a good meal. Overall, I would possibly stay here again, but at a cheaper rate.
I stay here often.. Staff is very friendly & helpful, esp at front desk. I frequently have a dog with me & there are lots of doors, parking & adequate grass. It's an older LQ, but usually pretty clean & conveniently right off the interstate. Nothing deluxe but usually great priceI have future reservations there already!
