This place deserves 0 stars but lucky them the system doesn't let me.
I bought a car 3 years ago. I always wanted to write a review about this place but this place is so shady that I couldn't even find their location.
They used to operate in 1111 S St. Street in Provo but they must have changed their location to avoid trouble
I got a car trusting everything would have been looked at until I saw that the windshield had a crack, I let them know and they told me to take it to jimmy lube to have it fixed for $20, then the rear left tire had a nail that I am even wondering if they placed it where it was on purpose since it was hidden and I was wondering all the time why I had to inflate the tire every 2 days.
I moved to study in the US and I needed a car, I was naive and overconfident of people and these cheaters got me good and took good advantage of it. First of all my credit cards weren't working for some reason since they were from Spain, I started a money transfer to the bank account in the US but he kept trying my card in that iPad app of theirs. The transfer took around 2 weeks, one day I checked the bank account online and saw he took $800 after I made the transfer so my account was in red numbers. He gave me the excuse of "you told me that I could keep trying".
Then one day I get back there to give them some money and the owner Lance showed up and told us that he came to the house looking for the car to take it back since we weren't paying (he thought we moved out of the state with the car, which is what I should have done) we moved to a new house so he asked for $300 extra since he had to come 3 times, they asked me to give them the car back until I payed the full thing.
I thought it was ok to give them the car until I had the money but then that cheat Lance guy started threatening me with selling the car to someone else if I didn't pay in the next two days I totally freaked out because they already got around $1,700 out of the $3,000 they were asking for. (Later on I took that car to the mechanic and they told me that car didn't worth more than $600)
Then, when the $1,200 were transferred, Lance still didn't let me have the car back until he got the money reflected in his bank account which would take maybe two more days. Before that time happened, I showed up in the dealer and asked for my car, his sidekick Matt (the one I dealt with in the beginning and gave me good service) gave me the keys back and told me that Lance can be an ass. I got the hell out of there and never wanted to hear anything from that place again.
Too bad I didn't know the owner before purchasing because I would have never done so, he gave me a really hard time. The car I got from them died in about a year, now I need a new car but I don't trust any car dealer in the whole country thanks to this shady place.
They are frauds and I will never do business with them again, they will lie cheat and put used parts on your can and tell you they took it to the dealership to get it fixed. Lance Whitfield is a cheat and a thief and a con man also his side kick Matt Miller also buyers beware of this dealer they are the people who give used car dealerships a bad name. Trust me there down right cheats on all counts. And there business is shady
PLEASE HEED THE WARNING. we went in two weeks ago and purchased a car right when we left to go home the engine light came on imagine my surprise when this happened because i clearly exclaimed that our other car had just broken down and we needed a reliable car that was not going to break down right when we left the lot. We went back in and they said they would fix what was wrong with it, but had to order the part. we did not give them all the paperwork for financing because we were waiting on the part to arrive and for our car to get fixed. now they say they are not going to fix it! The person who sold us the car told me that all the bad reviews were before he started working there, but clearly they have not changed at all! DO NOT BUY A CAR HERE! We also keep calling and no one is answering or returning our calls so how can even bring in the rest of the paper work.
update:
they ended up fixing the part but i would still not recommend to anyone. very unprofessional place
These guys will lie to sell you crap, I wouldn't trust them. Like Jon, They replaced a bunch of parts for free when I bought the car but did a HORRIBLE job doing so. Also there were numerous car problems that they didn't state (Faulty leak detection pump, loose ball barrings, bad tires, faulty low oil light.) The worst thing is they forgot to put oil in the vehicle that I bought! and me being my gullable self thought they did. Bad news is the oil light was broken AND THEY DIDN'T TELL ME. (Something so simple!!!) and the engine blew! They seriously will rip you off and their mechanics are liars that do a shoddy job fixing things. They replaced my engine with about the same price as a professional will charge and now I have doubts they did that correctly. DON'T GO HERE. I hope they go out of business soon so they can stop screwing over their customers
The guys we worked with gave us good service and we got a good deal on the car. But they didn't fulfill a couple of promises they made to us.
First of all, the mechanic there isn't the most top notch mechanic of all time. So even though they said they would get a couple of issues fixed, it was only done so-so. We had our mechanic take a look at it after and he said it was fixed up but it wasn't the best work ever done so it could still cause some problems later.
Next, they said they were going to get the AC working, at least charge it with Freon and that never happened.
Overall, just be cautious, they buy used cars at auctions out of state, so you'll get a good price, but make sure you check with a mechanic you trust before purchasing the car!!!
