Room reaked of cigarette smoke. Continental breakfast consisted of coffee. According to the guy at the desk breakfast was done for the day, even though it was nine am and the sign said it was served from eight to ten. I can't complain much about a $60 room, but Motel 6 would have been better.
I left my car here before a 10 day trip. The attendant said I had to leave my keys with him, but another person I checked in with was allowed to keep their keys (didn't realize until we were in the shuttle over). Shady. When I got back, I called for the shuttle and the guy would not come pick me up at the airport. He hung up on me twice. I took a $20 taxi back and the door was locked and he had stopped picking up the phone. Finally another person arrived and called their number, and the attendant answered and came out. After some back and forth I finally got my keys, and asked him where my car was (because it wasn't where I left it). He shrugged. Found my car, the odometer was the same as when I left, but the battery was dead. Had to call a tow company for a $78 jump. The only pro was the nice lil parking lot kitty that kept me company while I waited for the tow truck to show up. Long story short: Park elsewhere.
Sketchy area. People walking around the parking lot constantly, was worried about my car the whole time. Front desk was nice but the other guy working was not. Yelled at me for smoking outside when i had a non smoking roomalso was rude when i asked for extra pillows. Brought me one but didn't even look at me when i opened the door, just handed it in and walked away, he was rude. The sketchy people constantly was the worst though. Tiny room for the price. Seemed for the most part clean, about the only up side.
When I arrived, I knew something wasn't right. The front lobby was LOCKED with a sign that had a phone number on it. After I checked in, the man locked the door again. Who locks a hotel lobby??unless the area is so dangerous that they have to - yikes!
He checked me into a room that had NOT BEEN CLEANED after the previous occupants! YUCK!! So, at 11:00 at night, after a long flight, I wasted time bringing bags to the room, only to find a dirty room, and had to switch to a different room. He sent me to a "non-smoking" room that clearly had been a smoking room for a long time. The smell was toxic, and I couldn't leave the window open because it was exposed to the walkway. It seems they just change the rooms from smoking to non-smoking whenever they feel like it.
The bed is a metal frame with no box spring, but only about a 3 inch "mattress" with no comforter; only a dingy, smelly blanket I was afraid to touch. I had the worst night's sleep ever. In the morning, I explained the situation to the man at the desk. He said I could cancel the rest of my nights. So, I gathered my things and went back. Sure enough, there was a different man at the desk, who said that I couldn't cancel. Since I booked through Travelocity, I called them and they "negotiated" for me. The man finally told them I could cancel, but would have to pay for another night.
If you are looking for a clean room at an affordable price, I suggest you find a well-known motel chain instead. This place is not even motel quality. At least a well-known chain has a reputation they are trying to maintain. The people here do not care.
I don't know what everyone is talking about! My experience with this hotel was great. I'm thinking the bad reviewers are used to the Hilton, which is great if you want to pay Hilton prices. The staff (all of them including maids) were very nice. I had a 6 day stay in the suite with the kitchen. I will definitely return to this hotel next time I'm in Washington. I checked out at 11, but still had 7 hrs till my flight. I was able to leave my luggage in the office, and come back closer to time for my free shuttle to the airport. FYI if they were rude to you, you were probably rude 1st. If you want to see a dirty hotel with a rude staff check out crossland economy in Kent Washington!
Negatives are:
Beds not clean.
Rooms dark and dingy.
Internet is slow.
Key card stopped working randomly.
Positives are:
Nice, clean bathroom.
Friendly and helpful staff.
7 eleven close by (if in need of a quick snack).
Kitchenette is roomy but has nothing in the cupboard and no utensils, plates etc. They will not furnish any kitchen utensils. Toaster does not work and they have no replacement. Only have a frying pan. Has a good refrigerator/ freezer, microwave and stove. The continental breakfast is small muffins and some slices of bread and jam, paper plates. The only thing they furnish for the kitchenette is paper plate and plastic spoons and plastic knives. There towels are small and we got one washrag. The beds from 1-10 are abought a 4. You get what you pay for, cheap, cheap, cheap.
We booked 2 double beds walked into room with only 1 bed. Went to office and were put in a 2 bed unit. The walls are neon green and the chairs filthy. Good luck relaxing. No soap, shampoo OR washcloths! The shuttle van picked up and dropped off people ALL NIGHT right outside my window. I usually have patience but it took all I had to not scream Shut the bleep up!!! I recommend this place if the dumpsters in town are full.
The room was dirty! Staff were slow to respond. Car was safe while we were away. Will not use their services in the future.
You get what you pay for here. We got a room with two beds and kitchenette. The rooms are large compared to other budget motels. A decent sized kitchenette with a full fridge, full stove/oven, garbage disposal, and even dishwasher. Yes, they have out-dated appliances but you get what you pay for. I liked the room we we're in had wooden floors and not nasty carpeting. Also, liked that top blankets were white--meaning they have to wash/bleach them! (See pics!)
We stayed here over a week and noticed a few iffy things. They do not clean rooms very well. The kitchen was sticky everywhere. There was dirt inside cupboards, under beds, and under bathroom sink. It was just plain dirty, except for white bedding.
Also, staff kinda rude. The ones that aren't full out rude are just unfriendly. You would think that being in the hospitality industry they would at least seem friendly.
Also, what continental breakfast? It's advertised on their website as well as all the booking sites, but nope.
Guest laundry--you get access key from front desk so you are only one doing laundry at a time. The washer and dryer are extremely outdated. Wash cost 4 quarters and cycle runs approx. 35 mins; dry cost 5 quarters and runs approx. 45 mins., but does not fully dry clothes.
Wi-Fi really sucks here too.
Many things could be improved here: hospitality, cleanliness, maintenance, newer appliances badly needed, a real continental breakfast should be served, and better wifi.
Definitely not as advertised by Martina who said there were no nasty carpets and the bed covering was white and a full kitchenette however, it was probably a reasonable value, and fairly clean except the carpet --no bugs in my unit. The help a little prickly and the parking spots very skinny I gave it a 3 I mean what do you expect for 60 bucks anymore?
My wife and I spent the 1st -5th of March at the Knights Inn. My 1 star rating is because of two issues. We brought pets with us. We specifically searched for a hotel that is pet friendly. For $60 a night we got a place that pretty much offers four walls, a roof and a bed with few other luxuries. For $60 a night I figured we were over paying $10 a night because they were willing to put up our pets but I was very much wrong. We were charged an additional $20 dollars a night for both our pets at the door. This was not mentioned when I booked or on there website. They ambush you when you walk in, when you are exhausted and simply don't have the energy or will to go somewhere else. This charge should have been on my bill when I booked on stated somewhere on their website.
Second issue: ants. I know this is a hotel that offers basic accommodations, so I don't expect a sauna, full working kitchen and all, but ants, roaches and the like should be covered in the basics. They were in our bathroom and even made it into our bed.
Just stopped in to visit a friend. Was nice from what i could tell. They do need to have another in and out entrance other then the one they have
