Exceptionally clean, well stocked with all utensils, pots, pans, linens, even coffee! Great people to work with there. Very accommodating and thorough.
The setting is serene, quiet, beautiful wooded area and the cabins are far enough away from each other that you are not bothered at all I would go back there definitely!

We enjoyed our weekend stay in a very cozy cabin! It was pretty steamy outside but the cabin was comfortably cool and super quiet! The grounds are so pretty and there is even a trail along the river where we saw a bald eagle. It wasn’t too far to get to the local restaurants, state parks and the I and M Canal trail. It’s a lovely place to get away. Off the grid but comfortably so!

Perfect Couple Getaway! My wife and I had an amazing time at Kishauwau. The staff were super friendly and inviting, and our long weekend was just the getaway we needed to relax and unplug. The cozy cabin made it easy to just enjoy time with each other without distractions. Being only 10 min from Starved Rock and other area state parks was very convenient when we set out to explore. The cabins are also surrounded by several super cute small towns to explore, shop, and dine. Will definitely return!

What a delightful place! Very restful visit. Being close to two state parks provided great hiking for the family. Loved not being so connected. Lots of games with the granddaughter! Thanks to the dog cabins, the whole family was able to come.

Cabins are well-kept and cozy. Plenty of space between cabins for a real sense of privacy. Terisa was very communicative and responded to all questions in a timely manner. The view from the back of our cabin (Chippewa) was nothing but forest, adding to a feel of quiet solitude. Plenty of hot water for the huge whirlpool tub that fit me and my partner with room to spare. Definitely going to become a repeat customer!

Great weekend! The cabin was great, and the beds were amazing! We had a blast here this past weekend and will totally comeback!

The location is perfect, close to both Starved Rock and the town.

If I could make one request however, can wifi access get added to all cabins? At&t dropped off as soon as you got across the entrance to the site, and Sprint drops off a few miles earlier. Thankfully Verizon had 1 bar in case we needed to check our phones for anything.

I have been to Kishauwau Cabins twice now and had an amazing experience both times. They have clean cabins, free movies and books to borrow from the office and a very convenient little shop on premises. Quiet and secluded. Just what we were looking for!

We rented the Bridge cabin for two nights and LOVED it. The experience was great from booking to checkout. This is a family owned business and you will NEVER get better treatment and have a more positive experience anywhere. If you are looking for peace and quiet, look no further. THANKS!!!!!!!!

I really want to go back here. My husband and I stayed here right after we got serious and moved in together. While there are somethings you might have to do that are different from a regular house. It gives you that rustic feel you want in a cabin. All of the cabins are fully furnished with beautiful furniture and decor. We stopped in so we can plan to visit next year.

Booked a night for a "friends gathering" just so a few friends could have someplace to sleep overnight between our hikes at Starved Rock. They then call and cancel my reservation because they do not allow "Friend Gatherings." Pathetic

The goal was to hike at the two great state parks and do nothing. Mission accomplished. It's great that cell signals don't work. My 4 year old daughter had a blast, though she's great at finding fun everywhere.

My lovely girlfriend and I stayed here this past week and all I can say is wow! I stumbled upon this place online and decided to try it out and we are so glad we did. What a beautiful, peaceful place surrounded by nature's beauty. If your thinking of getting away for a few days from wifi and cable and just want to enjoy each others company and nature then come stay here. We went hiking at the close state parks in the daytime, which were breathtaking, then came back to grill and cook smores over the fire at night.then settled down to one of the many movies they have to offer on dvd in the office. What a pleasant staff and just a great experience!

Stayed with my girlfriend for 4 nights at the bridge cabin recently. The beauty and peacefulness of the area is hard to put into words. Owners and staff are so nice and accommodating. Campfires, good food, good friends and good times are what we've found at kishauwau. Special shout out to Tim for being so kind and generous. We have booked our next stay 🙂. Thank you!

We have been here many times in all seasons and have never been disappointed in the grounds, cabins, or staff. We have even rented three cabins and had a great family reunion. We give gift certificates to our kids for Christmas and they always look forward to their vacations at the cabins. When we want to get away and relax, this is our number one "go to" place.

I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone who enjoys nature, outdoors, and peace and quiet.

Great place for couples or families. The cabins are spaced well enough you think you are alone.
