Bad sushi worse service don't get suckered into buying a Groupon. Run away. It's also not sushi. It's garbage rolled into mush slathered in brown poop sauce. Seriously awful. Manager nor server knows what tamari is. Asked for some and the manager pointed to the soy sauce on the table and said soy sauce. Also he may be Asian but is as American as mushy apple pie. Left the eel on the table as the whole dragon roll was inedible. Eel should not be treated like that. Also I don't care cream cheese has no business being in sushi ever.
10pm after the Bucks game we had a craving for sushi. The favorite spots to eat were closed. This place has by far one of the worst service I’ve experienced. Maybe there was something going on? Not sure! There were about 3 tables with a total of MAYBE 8 people in the place. Our sushi rolls took over 30 minutes! We initially waited about 10-15 minutes once we were seated. Waiter seemed irritated that we asked a few questions. Spring rolls surprisingly came out fast but were COLD on the inside. After it was properly fried, the inside tasted like mush! The Superman rolls and bbq chicken wings were ok, not good, great, or exceptional like some other places I’ve been in Milwaukee. Very disappointing experience.
Food was decent however the service was mediocre, the restaurant was filthy and outdated, and the seats were torn and ripped. I cringed thinking about what the kitchen might look like if they don't bother to clean the dining room but we tried it anyway. About 8pm they turned loud rap music on (which we like but not while conversing over dinner). Generous with the stars because the food was good.
I had them a fair amount last year and they were really good! Lots of choices for maki and I always found something I enjoyed. However, the last 2 times I went there I got a bad stomach ache and threw up. I thought the first time might just be a fluke, as I was very satisfied with them in the past, which is why I went a second time. I don't know about their other food, but the sushi isn't good.
Ate here after a show at the Riverside Theater. Upon walking in,we were greeted by a security guard. Not just a security guard, but an on duty officer wearing a badge, gun and a bullet proof vest. Thought that was rather odd. We were also not the only people in here at the time, one group with small children. And a few others drinking and dancing to very loud music that was not exactly fitting to a Japanese steakhouse/sushi bar. We were seated quickly but waited quite a long time for a waitress. Once our orders were placed we began our wait for our food. Now,at this point there were hardly any diners left. We still waited 30 plus minutes. During our wait there was a constant flow of men to the restroom,at first I thought wow, these guys really have to pee. But it was always the same group of guys. Two or three times sure.but it got to be pretty obvious what was going in. And the officer at the door either didn't mind or he was in on it. Because nobody is that stupid not to see it.
The food was mediocre at best. Which was sad because it's location would suggest this place had to be good. I was disappointed with the entire dining experience. I will give it another try maybe a bit earlier and see what changes. But if there was a manager on duty that night,he/she needs to be fired.
We ate here for my 21st birthday and it was definitely a night to remember; and not for the good! We attempted exploring outside our comfort zone and tried new sushi. So we tried a basic tempura spicy maki roll. Before ordering it, I asked the waitress how hot it would be. She replied saying "you can pick the spiciness from 1-4", 4 being the spiciest. I picked 2, and it was extremely INTOLERABLE!! Long story short, we didn't touch any of the food and ended up paying a $61 bill ( only 2 sushi rolls were touched btw). I wish the staff new why they were advising, for new sushi customers. Or at least honored a refund.
Amazing service ! The owner is nice and makes sure everyone is good & covered. The workers and the food are amazing!
This place is super sketchy. We went in at around 11 and there was really profane music blaring at club volume. We sat down at this sticky booth with stained drapes and were handed these comically oversized menus. After a few minutes of tolerating the music we decided to get our food to go. 25 minutes later we left with it. I was almost positive we were going to get sick from the sushi after seeing the inside of the place but to my suprise it was actually really really good and no one woke up vomiting. They really need to work on cleanliness and atmosphere but at least they know what they are doing when it comes to food.
Absolutely HORRIBLE experience. To say the service was bad would be a major understatement, it was almost non-existent. The food took forever and they got my order wrong as well. Had I not already invested a good 45 minutes, I would have gotten up and left. The sushi was below average at best. If you like your ear drums blown out by extremely loud, uncensored hardcore rap, then this is your place. I was very taken aback that a restaurant would allow music with such vulgar lyrics for a dining establishment, regardless of time of day. Lastly, there was a strong smell of marijuana coming from somewhere. My guess was either the chef or the server lit up in the kitchen which would explain the incorrect order. Added onto the bill was an 18% gratuity, which is a total scam because they deserved 0%. I'm usually pretty easy to please, but this place was an absolute disaster. Deserves a 0 star, but you're forced to give at least one.
This place is open late and is great for students. They have a special student menu (but automatically includes 18% gratuity). They have amazing sushi creations with a wide selection of deep fried rolls. I personally am a vegetarian, so I love paying the student price of $3.50 for a veggie roll stuffed with avocado, cucumber, kampyo, and sweet potatoes.
The food was fantastic with service to match. What a great place for Sunday brunch with your favorite girl, friends or family! We love this place and always try to stop when we are visiting!
First class fine dinning at its best!!! A true elegant affair. Great service followed by fantastic cuisine. Everything from the lobster bisque, crab cakes to the best carrot cake I have ever had in my life.
Ordered online. Called 1hr 15min later. They couldn't figure out credit card. Told me my debit card was declined. I asked them to rum it 3 times after I made sure there was more than enough funds. They said the total cost. I asked for a discount because of delay. They hung up after saying no. Young girl on other end getting instruction from other employees. DON'T USE ONLINE SYSTEM!
30 minutes to get water and a server, 10 for the drinks, food time was a reasonable 20 min, but the 40 minutes before I got fed up and tracked down a server to give me my bill was the straw that broke the camel's back. The place wasn't even busy. There were less than 2 tables per server.
Even worse, our server had a terrible attitude, never checked on us to refill drinks, screwed up my order (she didn't apologize, just rolled her eyes), and forgot to change the bill which charged me 3$ extra.
Despite not being notified beforehand she had the audacity to write in a tip for herself on the bill. Not realizing she would do this I left tip in cash. I asked about it and was informed "that's just what we do here." At this point I just wanted to leave so I went back to the table to collect my cash. The table had already been cleared.
The food was good though. Seems like the cooks know what they're doing even though the waitstaff doesn't have a clue.
I think they do takeout. If you need to try the food, take it and eat it elsewhere.
Enjoyed it thoroughly! Sushi was great and they're open late night every day. Only complaint was our order was messed up a bit, ordered a couple things we didn't get and we were brought rolls that weren't ordered. All in all, I'll be recommending to friends and family who enjoy sushi
